Neverending MBRO memory thread

Was it sudden ?
Kinda. He had been in the hospital with corona, and had started getting better. Got off the vent, was up and stuff, then had a massive heart attack. He's had problems for years, had a pig valve put in years ago. I guess the virus just got him weak, and his heart gave out.

Work had been nice and let whoever wanted to leave and go to the funeral. No pay, but it didn't count against us leaving. There wasn't but about 5 of us hourly people who went, and several big bosses. Plant manager was there, thanked us for coming, and said he's going to pay us like we didn't leave. Pretty nice, he didn't have to do that.

Damn. Covid is terrible for triggering blood clots.

Please God, let this start wearing off soon! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Oh yeah, gotta work over at the plant tomorrow instead of the shop. Head fixer is working on a special project, and big boss said I needed to come in to help him.

Dream of narwhals swimming through the air, mischievously snatching bunches of balloons and playing keep away with human children.

Hopefully we're going to go to Texas roadhouse this evening, and gonna take Tiffany shopping and buy her something for our anniversary. She's been wanting some new dresses, so that's what I'm going to get her.

We went to Roadhouse this weekend. I hope yours is faster than ours.

I'm kinda in a torn spot. My main work is wanting me to start working over more. They have a couple of guys now, but one is retiring at the end of the year. I don't mind occasionally, but it has been a while since I worked so much there. I can make in a day what I make all week at the side gig if comes to needing the money. That said, I like the side gig, enjoy learning the stuff I have, and they're good folks. They've actually talked to me several times, asking what it'd take for me to work for them full time. Of course, insurance is the real issue with that, and I've told them that. If I start working more again at the plant, I'd pretty much have to quit the side gig. I told them today that we'd see at the end of the year when the other guy retires.

Would your boss fight to keep you?
Are they aware of side gig?
The plant struggling to hire people?

Sounds like opportunity to try to negotiate a pay increase

Yeah, they know about the side gig. They have people, 2 training, but just want our shift to work over on our days off to do things.

Lazy bones is gone for good. Motor mouth is still out with his feet. They don't do overtime on nights much, unless someone is just out.
