Never thought I would say this.

I’m talking bout Bailey decommitting....Pruitt likely won’t get fired unless they get their a— handed to them by GA and start the season 1-4...if they are only 2-5 after Bama he’s done

Lol and which teams are the 2 you speak of? I seriously don't think they will win 1 game this year and I'm serious as a heart attack.

This is by FAR the worst coached and least prepared team I have ever seen in my 47 years

I'm almost 62 and love the Vols but wish I had cut the grass this afternoon. Scrappy opponent popped us first and never held back. We need some scrappy players in Knoxville. JG has had ample opportunity to deliver, but .....
We are now the laughing stock of college football. Not only the worst in the SEC but all divisions. Kudos to GA State as they came ready to play. Agree to quote above regarding Pruitt as head coach vs coordinator. Didn’t care for Chaney when he was here before. Been a fan for 50 years. Seen many ups & downs. But the last 12 years have tried my patience to the end. Watching them play is like watching paint dry. Nothing about them is exciting to watch. Mr. Fulmer, if you want to start winning again, call me.

I'm only 28. I dont actually remember the 98 championship game. Despite enduring more bad seasons than good and some embarrassing losses, I've stayed interested and excited even, watching even to the last whistle in big blowout losses. I've considered myself a big passionate fan.

I'm no longer interested in Tenn football. The program hasnt been interested in actually winning in awhile now. There's more to life than sports.

This could be one of those games that changes a season, a program.

I'm expecting "see ya" comments. I'm not boycotting, quitting like some of these guys. I've seriously, legitimately lost interest in watching them play. If I get a chance to watch and it's a close game, I'll tune in. Outside of Dobbs, the program has been a dumpster fire and this is an all time low. I'm just going to stop planning my life around gameday. I just dont care anymore. Obviously, Tenn athletics doesnt.

I'm lucky enough to remember the Shuler and Manning days and the good teams if the early 2000's. However, I checked out mentally after Dobbs left and after today I have physically checked out. I had planned to attend games this year with my 12 year son, who has Aspergers and just recently started showing interest in attending games. However, I believe that we would get more enjoyment driving 40 mins to JCity to watch ETSU play.

Today was the first time I've taken my sons to watch a game in Neyland. I've been so excited to spend this day with them the last couple of days, and for this team to come out and lose to a 2 win Sun Belt team like they did was truly depressing. I don't know what the problem is, players didn't seem too torn up after the game, so I'm not sure why I let myself get so upset with their losing game after game. I truly don't believe this football program will ever be good again.

If the team loses cuz theyre simply out talented and lack of depth, I can handle it. I can forgive the team, encourage thejr efforts and look for positives. Absolutely not giving a CRAP about showing up for the 1st game of the year in front of your home crowd and still not giving a crap when down by 2 scores to 1 of the worst teams in cfb... yeah, thats a no for me.

And where was Pruitt being upset? Kick another white board or something. Geez. Act like you just torched your resume to be a HC. Wouldn't shock me if Jennings quit at this point.

Yep. I'm 51 and have been cheering for the Vols since I was 21, but I just don't feel the passion anymore. Too many disappointments. Back in the 90's and early 2000's, when we would lose a game, I would stay mad for days. Now, I'm over losing in half an hour. It's kinda sad really, my boys will never see the dominant teams that I fell in love with.

I’ve always been super optimistic when it comes to our Vols, but I really have lost interest in college football as a whole. I’m not gonna lie I haven’t felt the excitement since our offense was lead by Dobbs.

It doesn’t help that my Bears actually have a good team. I’ve always been more of a NFL fan anyways. Plus with Fantasy Football it takes the excitement to a whole new level. There has to be better days ahead for our Vols though...

I’m 56, been a life long fan. Remember the great days like the miracle at South Bend, the Sugar Vols, the Championship. Would get high blood pressure before each game because I was invested. Watching the game today I can say it’s the first time ever I felt the fire was out. I’ll watch the games but cant too emotional about them anymore.

I’m 59 and have remained a loyal fan for over 50 years. Graduated from there 2x, didn’t miss a home game at one stretch for 17 years, blah blah, but after sitting in a half empty stadium watching the team and staff perform like quitters on the first game of a new season - I’m just done. Just like they have collectively, I’ve chosen to move on - not worth it anymore.

I'm with you. I'm 33, and I love my Vols. I just can't keep coming back for this kind of abuse. I will follow them, and hope things turn around, but I'm not sure it will. I really wish we had hired Mike Leach. I wonder what our issue is. I figured that Fulmer would have fixed some of this
Fulmer is a big part of the problem. We had Mike Leach begging to come here, a proven winning head coach. Look what he did last year with Washington State. But Fulmer sabotage the whole thing and got an Alabama guy instead. He's as much to blame as anybody

I was at UT in the 90s and have fond memories of the good teams in the 80s - its in my blood, so as much as I say I won't watch or care, I know I will.

But I don't blame anyone for not caring. Its pitiful. Especially people 10+ years younger than me. Program has sucked. The administration/boosters/whatever don't care - how else do we get these pathetic coaches?

I think that everyone should just handle it like me......accept defeat before the game even begins no matter who the opponent is. That way, if the game goes well you are pleasantly surprised and happy! After 10 years of embarrassment I just don't get angry anymore. I had to do this for my own heart and mental health.

33 here.. TN Football was all I had. Honestly. Single. No friends. Live at home with my aunt. Lost a sister a few years back. Life's been rough for me and has had me down the last several years.. Always looked forward to Uzt football. Going to games. Cheering in the stadium. Loved it. Even with my anxiety of being around people. It just was nice to fit in somewhere. Now it's gone.
Hey man! There is always the Titans. If you love football that much get into em! It should take after a few months. Fishing is a blast too. Also a lot of good high schools around with great football traditions.

Tried that, doesn't seem to work out so well either.

I won't quit watching. The team isn't as bad as you all on here make it seem like it is. The defensive line is atrocious and single handily lost us the game today. Completely whipped and ran over at will. Offense was decent and somewhat efficient, but didn't have as many opportunities and was under pressure with the defense doing so poorly.

I somewhat saw this coming, with the D-Line being so depleted. Being so inept at one position such as the D-Line will leave your whole team vulnerable. Unfortunately, it will be an uphill battle to continue to recruit at a high level when you lose to a GA State. Still believe in Pruitt though, but not sure the fanbase is going to be patient enough...
