I will never forget...I was in the last week of AIT in the army and was pulled out of class that afternoon to pack my bags and report to Ft. Campbell. A few weeks later I was in Afghanistan.

Godbless You my brother and Thank You for everything You and the others do for keeping Us safe.

I've got a friend who was supposed to be on AA Flight 11 out of Boston. She was in a bad way aterwards, "survivor's guilt" they call it. Obviously I'm glad she made it but there are LOTS of people that lost family and friends that day.

I'm not forgetting anything.

I was in the UT art building this very moment 7 years ago, watching in HORROR the 2nd tower falling on TV.

I hope there is not an idiot on this board that will post the gif of Will Smith dancing on the collapsing towers.

We are grateful for you protecting us and insuring our freedom. May the Good Lord keep you and all our soldiers safe.

And thanks Gator, for reminding us on this day, the 7th anniversary, to keep the memories of those lost lives forever in our hearts, and God bless this great country.

No matter if we are Bulldogs, Vols, Gators or Bammers... today we remember that we all bleed Red, White and Blue. Today, we remember that those colors never run. My friends, please take a moment to remember where you were 7 years ago. Take a moment of silence and pray for the friends and families of the victims. God bless all of you. and GO USA!
Best post by a gator ever.

God bless America.

Wow, I am quite a bit older than some of your folks, but this is one of the memories of that day that will stick out for me.

I was working for Panasonic in Knoxville then and when the towers came down, a lot of us were gathered in a room watching the news coverage. I will never forget the sick feeling I got when I saw the second tower come down on live TV.

A lot of the Japanese upper management was in the room with us watching continuing coverage when the news anchor said "This is the most cowardly (might have been notorious) attack on American soil since Pearl Harbor". You could have heard a pin drop in that room. (uncomfortable)<uncomfortable></uncomfortable>

Vader, I bet that was uncomfortable...don't feel old I am 34. I just joined the military kind of late in life (26).

You would be hard-pressed to find many Japanese who are proud of that bit of history.

That's not so much the case with a lot of people associated with those that brought the towers down.

Others have said it, but I would like to add my thanks for your service to our country. :salute:

It's bittersweet for me. As a Firefighter losing 343 brothers on the same day bringing my first child into the world. At least I have one thing to celebrate on this day!!! God Bless

It's still heartbreaking. I could'nt imagine the pain and suffering our fellow Americans endured. May God bless everyone...all of us...May we never forget.
