The die is cast. Jones may not realize how close he is to being shown the door. Fulmer wasn't and he had been around UT for decades. Or maybe he just truly believes in Scott... or... most likely... He believes in his system and wants it to continue to be run HIS way.

If I had to guess, the last option is what Jones is hanging his job on. Shoop has to bring the D around and then Jones has to hope that Dobbs' freelancing wasn't the thing that caused Jones' O to work at all.

You do realize that precludes us (vol nation) from discussing much of anything having to do with ut sports? How out we say crn's opinion shouldnt count for diddly because his win /loss record is worse than the coach he's
questioning. I personally think the guy is much better on radio than he ever was on the field. A better shooter on the range but not so good under fire In The field. That being said I think he's wrong in this case.

Butch's spread is not that complicated.
Coach Scott will do just fine calling plays.
The question is execution.

Whenever someone with a radio show questions Tennessee or any other big program, remember that frequently their ultimate goal is to create some sort of controversy and drive people to listen. This is more about stirring up one of the larger fan bases in CFB to boost ratings and create a false story or controversy. Colin Cowherd does this about everything on his show to the point that I can't listen to him anymore. He constantly plays the contrarian and his show is stale because of it. I like listening to sports talk shows but some just try too hard to create content that isn't really a story.

factor in if Scott leaves then, how does that affect recruiting?

Word is Scott handled more of the OC role in the late games than many realized. While 2nd half of Vandy sucked, the rest of the time was pretty good, if true.

Yeah Lincoln Riley is gonna leave OU with Mayfield at QB, to come to Tennessee to find a new QB.

Rick is doing bad things again.

Clearly a guy who got fired and did horrible as a head coach is a guy with a great opinion... Neuheisel giving advice on coaching is the equivalent to Donnie Tyndall giving advice about not cheating.

I bash anyone who hires Neuheisel. He certainly has the pulse on the nationwide coaching situation. Could be that's why he's sitting in a studio bashing other coaches. That armchair is really comfortable....

Please tell me you are joking. Have you watched our OL? They got pushed around by almost every team we played last year except TT. Our OL has been garbage ever since Butch got here.
