and not that it is related in any form or fashion but I saw a few minutes ago that ESPN has Kamara picked to go in round 1 to the Packers...They sure need him...hope it happens....and Barnett to the Colts in round 1.

I am with you primarily because it's the only horse we can ride right now. I try to stay positive until proven otherwise. The moaning and groaning has no positive impact on the program. Truth is nobody knows for sure and time will tell. GO VOLS AND CONGRATS TO COACH SCOTT!

Scott doesn't have to be an OC genius, he's running Butch's offense. All he has to be is a yes man and maybe tweak a few plays here and there.

I usually agree with you BOT but comparing Osborne and Spurrier to Neuheisel comes up a few Nat'l Championships short.. Just sayin'....

All these people saying the Scott hire has sealed Jones's fate, are the same people wanting to hire Tee Martin, who I might add had never called a play before this time last year.

Good point! Take away all of the touchdowns and this past year would certainly not be one of UT's highest scoring offenses. (blue font for the sarcastically challenged).

It is really disingenuous to make the argument of take this piece away and the result would not have been the same. The results were the results.

Also, we aren't changing the offense. Maybe new wrinkles, but it will look the same. So, we don't need a guy to bring a system in. We need a guy who can call plays in this system.

If you believe Butch is on the hot seat, some do some don't, is probably the reason people feel this is not a good hire. If his job is on the line then go get a proven OC. If you feel secure then just promote within and keep everything the same offensively. Some people feel that Butchs unwillingness to go outside of his offensive comfort zone will be what gets him fired.

I disagree, if his job is on the line the safer bet is in house. Dormady has 2 years in the system and JG already has one. Why bring in a new system when you possibly have 1 year left. Also why would any big time OC come here. You have a new qb, possibly only 1 year to get it done. Scott was the right hire for the safest route to success imo. If one of the qbs is legit and the OL improves our offense will be fine no matter who the OC is. The success factor next year is more on the defense, we need a strong defense with a first year starter at qb.

Rick Neuheisel is a Pete Carroll wanna be clown. Butch's critics are well noted but RN aint even credible! He can't even get on a reputable program he's on that dog crap xm radio. Forget him!
At least Butch is still a coach!

If the offense under achieves Butch has no excuse, in house hire, his scheme, no one to blame but himself. If he would have hired a proven OC and had moderate success he could say we are on the right track, if the offense bombs, fire the guy then hire in house. Self preservation. I think your logic is sound, but this is year 5, failure at this point could mean being shown the door.
