Wild W C

2 episodes in and I'm waiting to see the cult do something nefarious. So far they haven't done anything "wrong" in my eyes, besides being generally weird. The townspeople of Antelope got what was coming to them. They tried to use the government to squash the rights of others and that power was taken from them in a fair and democratic way. They got what was coming to them.

Smh at this post.
A sex cult moves into town and runs off half a small town and your view is that the townspeople got what was coming to them and the cult did "nothing wrong." Sometimes common sense needs to enter the picture. This is a sex cult filled with loons and anyone with a brain knew they would bring trouble with them (which they did). I would love to see how you'd react if they moved in next door to you.

Uhhh

Their being a "sex cult" is nobody's business. It's a free country with freedom of religion and association. They tried to use BS zoning laws to run off a religion, and all the cultists did was buy property and diminish their political power. The locals were busybody *******s and got what was coming to them.

I'm not sure how things turn out, but they start badly because the locals were being dicks. That's all I'm commenting on.

Lol. Like I said....common sense needs to enter at some point.

.

Sounds like you are saying the locals' actions are justified (with the benefit of hindsight), but are you saying this because the cult needed to be stopped or because the locals' actions actually created a better outcomes for themselves? I highly doubt it's the latter, but I guess I'll have to wait and find out.

Sounds like a lot of people got good $ for property they didn't want. Those people are better off. It's hard to imagine opposing the cultists made things better for anybody in Antelope.

Man I’m just gonna stop here. We don’t live on the same planet.

So, the former?

I'm not sure what specific actions you are referring to in regards to the towns people.

A cult of thousands moved in overnight and anyone with a brain knew it was gonna be bad news. So yeah, they hadn't broken any laws when they bought a ranch but.... have some freakin sense man. It's basically a town of wackos moving in next door and they brought with them exactly what everyone knew they'd bring with them...evil.

Did this get better after the first episode? It was too slow for me. I mean get on with it! Felt like it could have been done in a 2 hour movie.

It was about 6 hours and should have been about 3-4 tops. Most amazing part of it was that seemingly no one has ever heard of it or even remembers it.

For sure, the first 2 episodes should have been 1. I was taking down boxes while I watched, so I didn't have a boredom problem, but it was a lot of unnecessary fluff.

Just watch the rest of the episodes and you will see how peaceful they really were.

IDK how peaceful they were, my only point is that the locals were dicks first. Regardless of what happens, that point will remain.

How exactly were they dicks? They didn't stop them from doing anything. Sheela and her possee got power hungry. They should have built their commune and leave everybody else alone but they didn't.

They tried to, which is why the cult moved into Antelope. Did you watch the doc?

My intention isn't to defend them, I'm defending the bill of rights and calling the locals out.

We should maybe take this to another thread.

No need. Just come back after you have watched the entire doc.
