Funny you say that, I feel pretty strongly about the show as well. The last 2 seasons I largely ignore as they are pretty terrible outside of a few Jim/Dwight moments.
Part of what appeals to me is the show came out around the time I started working my first "real" jobs. I had been working a few years but my first job was for a much smaller company with a very small office, and when The Office started I was about 6 months into a new job at a bigger office. It was also my first real "corporate" job, and it was so hilarious to watch the interactions and some of the storylines on the show because it reflected my office in a lot of ways. I swear the day after The Dundies episode aired, our dept. had an awards type luncheon.
Even with Michael around the later seasons moved away from the office centered stuff and got too personal with their lives, but those first 3-4 seasons are just comedy gold. I sometimes will fire up an episode on Netflix on my phone and listen to it while I work.
What really blows my mind is that it's been over a decade since it premiered. It's kind of sad in a way that it's been so long. It's also kind of a bummer how it's kind of been forgotten. I remember when it got heavy into syndication about 5-6 years ago and was prominently featured on TBS, but now I'm not even sure it's on anywhere around here. Last I knew I think the local MyNetwork affiliate would show them at weird times, like midnight on Saturdays or something.
