Negativity from fans and media makes a difference

Some live miserable lives and enjoy wallowing in their misery. It's what they do

What makes you think a person being critical lives a miserable life?

What would be the world be like if someone wasnt there to tell you were doing something wrong?

If a QB has a bad throwing technique, telling them they are wrong and correcting it to make it better is a good thing

Men were born with balls. Use them

I think this thread has backfired. It seems that more and more negativity has been revealed.

I would expect our rivals to trash us but when it comes from our own loyal fans, after being told that it's bad for the team, I will never "get it".

Go Vols!

This sounds like an ultimate excuse, but appy state and Ohio were the perfect trap games. Appy state u have the biggest game ever the following week. For Ohio u just got back from the biggest game ever and have Florida this week. They put up 45 against va tech and I believe they will show out against Florida. I am not worried about them. If hall is back the line will be fine

Dealing with adversity is a part of life

Deal with it and move on. Use it to motivate you

If these guys let fans get in their heads with negative comments on an internet board, then we cant help them

Let me translate this:

I refuse to take responsibility that my words and actions have an impact on a person. It's their fault for listening.

You're an a$$hole and if you're offended it's your fault for reading my response.

The pot calling the kettle black? Kids should be relegated to cartoons.

I wonder what Travis vfl34 input is

My input is we will be 4-0 going into Georgia. A while ago, I am not sure if anyone from recruiting remembered, I mentioned Richmond didn't have that look in his eyes as being what he should be. Unfortunately that has been the biggest problem, left tackle. As a line you must play as one.

Oh don't get me wrong, we have the right to say what we feel.

Our own loyal fans are the one that try to justify doing something that is bad for the team.

If you don't believe it's bad for the team the continue.

If you believe it's bad for the team, why would you continue?

Buddy I think we lost two starters on the line right before the season started and it has taken us three games to start to gel. I think we only get better from here on out. I don't see why we wouldn't. It makes sense. butch has played this very, very well in my opinion. We are about to come together at the right time. We do have to get out of florida first though.

Alabama' Oline hasn't been that great this year. it's taken them some time to come together and almost lost the game yesterday with a last minute fumble from the center. Oklahoma lost a center last night first play and looked like doo doo. Think about it.

I wrote my response this way on purpose. Look at the replies. See words do create feelings and then people react. Players are the same.

I honestly feel that criticism is a must to improve but one can criticize and also see the bigger picture. We have a lot of fortune tellers on here that want to bash, not criticize, the predict the future. I see the o line struggles, I see Dobbs struggling with the deep ball, I see Martin not getting his head around, I see Medley still be unbelievably accurate at hitting the right upright, I see Debord still call plays that leave me wondering WTF was that. I can critique without bashing. I just wonder why so many cannot see the difference.

Medley needs a homing device leg, like that of Rodney Dangerfields putter in caddy shack

Yea...it can affect potential coaches and players as well as those currently on the sidelines...sad that those with neither the knowledge nor the skill to actually play or coach the game make all the negative noise...

Better get used to it because this is the new world order. It's going to be like this. The internet gives everyone a voice indiscriminately. What we have to do is educate the youth on how to tune out the noise and see the bigger picture.

The thing is why be negative when that hurts the team? Be positive get behind the team and help fire them and the coaches up and then there's a good chance we see them playing better and winning by bigger margins. But no most people wants to put them down in the dirt then Bitc! When they play bad!! Cheer up folks and get back to the positives, remember were 3-0 and until we lose we could go all the way!! GBO!!

You know, this is absolutely correct! After sitting through that debacle yesterday, all I can say is thank god we won because driving back to Cincinnati with an Ohio fan in the car might have made me negative. Instead, I am just going to be positive. I am going to accept that we are UT and will literally win 7 to 8 games a year and 9 in good years. I am going to accept that the philmer golf clap is what these kids need every time they come off the field whether they play at 10% or 100% because that's the positive thing to do. I am going to accept that I will have to take sh!t from every gator, dawg, and bammer in the freaking world because after all, we are just UT and that is good enough. I promise to get my swag on now from beating good HS teams because if I don't hold those victories up on high and proclaim we are 3-0 to start the season I may hurt someone's feelings and we certainly don't want that. I am going to be positive and support the coaches and tell them its not their fault that we are running the same offense and defense that we have run for the last quarter century and for the most part, it doesn't work any more.

Yes, I am so filled with positive I think I will just puke.

If you don't like my positive attitude, then golf clap and move on because I don't want my feelings hurted.

When I was a kid my gym teacher separated the class into two teams. One with athletic types and the other team looked like we didn't have a chance.

He called the game before we ran up the score on them and preceded to tell us he had actually divided the team into the ones with good sportsmanship and attitude and the ones without.
