As of last night, Pastor Steve's son, who lives in Mandeville, had not heard from them. The roof of the church and Pastor Steve's house were heavily damaged before Melissa made landfall. We haven't heard from them since.

We haven't heard anything from Sav as far as I know.

Still no word from Sav or Black River. Pastor Steve's son is preparing to try to get to Black River.

I know that I haven't posted much in this thread in a while,but something urgent and heartbreaking happened to the family.

My step-dads brother in law(pretty much my uncle)who's in his mid to late 70s must've fell due to a low pressure episode and hit his head on a hard surface at his home. He was knocked unconscious and its been 3 hours and he hasn't regained conscious. The doctors have now said they're not hopeful for his recovery as he has two brain bleeds on each side of his head.

Its really sad for everyone as hes an absolutely, amazing human being and a great man of God. Its hard to find many like him. Please keep his wife,children and grandchildren in your prayers. His entire family. God bless and take care

A few years ago, an uncle of mine suffered a fall in his back yard late one night. Found the following morning and, sadly, he had succumbed to his head injuries.

Sadly, my stepdads brother in law succumbed to his injuries at 5:30 this morning and had to be taken off the ventilator. His wife is obviously in shambles as are is his two sons and daughter. His grandchildren are taking it hard about their Papaw. Despite his age,this accident completely took everyone by surprise. I hate how it happened. Nobody deserves to pass like that especially such a wonderful, God fearing man that always made an introvert like me comfortable and was well loved by anyone he came into contact with.

Just continue to keep his family in your prayers. I dont post here often,but this hit me hard and im not even biologically related. Thank you and God bless

Thank you guys very much!! Its very much appreciated. The celebration of life is Monday in replacement of a typical funeral. Thats what he would have wanted. I haven't cried yet because its so shocking how it happened and who it happened to. Thanks again!
