More truth to that statement than you even realize.

While the English and political science majors are out in the quad throwing frisbees and laying out on the blankets sun bathing, engineering students are locked in the computer lab trying to debug 800 lines of C+ code in a room filled with Middle Easterners and other foreigners. About the only time you see an American is when the janitor comes or when the security guard has to kick you out the lab at 3:00 a.m.

But it was worth it. :pepper:

You know, that is why I changed majors. I started as a civil engineer. My teachers could barely speak legible english. So after that first semester I said screw this I'm getting a degree in something I want to do and not dred getting up in the morning to do. Now I'm 3 semesters away from getting a degree in sports journalism and I've had the opportunity to meet some cool ass people.

Money is not worth being unhappy for me.

By the general attitude of the forum I take it is not seen as exactly the most stellar program? I'm surprised if that's the case because all the rankings mark it fairly competitive. Either way thanks for all the information.

I would not base my decision to go to a law school on opinions of sports fans, most of whom didnt go to law school (myself included).

Working at The Ear/Catch/Last Chance is a more honorable profession than being some Erin Brockavitch, corporate blackmailing, ambulance chasing, child molester freeing, OJ defending piece of crap lawyer...

But of course, everyone hates lawyers until they need one. Lets just hope if I ever need one, they are one of the good, honorable scumbag lawyers.

There is plenty of corruption in every profession. Doctors are held in high esteem, but how "honorable" is it for a surgeon to deny an operation to a patient that needs it? It happens all the time with risky procedures that might lower a surgeon's success rate.

I'm not sure how my post on "shoe shows", got tangled up with lawyer bashing.

I just noticed that neither had been mentioned...

Doctors save lives. They actually learn a trade that can benefit mankind. Lawyers are parasites (or at least most of them are) that feed on the wealth of others. They also defend the indefensible and actively look for ways to influnce society with more laws. The more laws you create, the more chances there are for laws to be broken. That is why most of your legislators are former lawyers, rather than doctors or engineers... It is to their benefit to make more things illegal (erode away at our individual liberties/freedoms).

Lawyers would love a bureaucratic, centralized, oppressive gov't.

Do something honorable. Be a doctor, engineer, or pick up an honest trade.

What you've just typed is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever read. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone on this board is now dumber for having read it. May God have mercy on your soul.

Not all lawyers are bad... just the majority of them.

The devil visited a lawyer's office and made him an offer. "I can arrange some things for you, " the devil said. "I'll increase your income five-fold. Your partners will love you; your clients will respect you; you'll have four months of vacation each year and live to be a hundred. All I require in return is that your wife's soul, your children's souls, and their children's souls rot in hell for eternity."

The lawyer thought for a moment. "What's the catch?" he asked.

The devil did the same thing to an engineer, but before the engineer could accept, the devil said, "Nevermind, I could never make people respect you."

Since you have the all the answers promise me you will do this.Let's say you do manage to stay out of trouble with the law and never need to appear in front of a judge.Okay.Let's say you have children one day that grow up and get into some minor trouble, maybe even once or twice, appear in front of the juvenile judge without an attorney.Especially if you go back a second time in front of him or her.I can guarantee you the judge will light you up if you go in front of him/her without an attorney bumbling around.I have used an attorney a number of times, for one reason or another and it is by far the best money I have ever spent.I don't think you actually know what an attorney does or can do.I think you may even live to regret taking shots at them one day.

Like I said earlier, everyone hates a lawyer until theye need one...

I just hope I get one of the few good ones.

RockersChalk??? Are you a KU fan???

Yep I am. Still smarting over our miserable performance against UCLA. I was rooting UT pretty hard also, I had 'em in the finals. Thought Lofton was gonna get 'em deep.

On a side note thanks for all the recommendations on the board. We had a great time and don't remember most of it so we succeeded in our mission! Went and checked out Neyland stadium also so that was great. Great campus just wish they had my program but thanks again!
