NCAA Will Hammer VOLS

I'm waiting on the NCAA interview with Pruitt, When he tells them "I've done this everyplace I've coached. Alabama, FSU, UGA, etc..."
It’s my understanding from someone who would know that the NCAA is going to struggle with this one because of all the other programs that will get caught up in the mess. It appears that UT hired a law firm early on. They appear to be ready to bring everyone down with them. Don’t be shocked if this falls mostly on coaches and not the university.

I’m just trying to figure out how you use a credit card at a strip club? I’m old, married and haven’t been to one of these fine establishments in many years.
Do the strippers wear one of the card swipey things and nothing else? Do you run up a tab and pay at the end of the night? Someone help me out here.
GBO!!
They've got chip readers in their booties. You just swipe your card down the 'plumbers crack' and you got's your happy ending.

From Dorsey - long - that he sent me from someone he knows!

From the DawgVent, guy says his buddy is a big Tenn booster who gave this info. Nothing earth-shattering or completely new, but a plausible summary.

Background Anecdote
A Vol beat writer (I’m leaving his name out) became a friend of Pruitt’s, who apparently had very few in Knoxville. A year or so back, he went to a golf tournament in Georgia with Pruitt and on the way back, Pruitt stopped at a bank to make a huge withdrawal. They and dropped it off with a contact to make direct payments throughout Georgia. Pruitt was paying these kids out of his own pocket in many instances. Beat writer obviously didn’t care too much, but was at pretty shocked at how brazen the Vols were being about. This story was told to my buddy by the writer.

Pay-for-Play

Niedermeyer and Pruitt were the ones paying players directly. Niedermeyer got sloppy and gave Brian Maurer his credit card to take recruits to a strip club. Brian got drunk and left the card there, so receipts were sent to Athletics to ensure they got paid.

News of the pay for play issues came out during TA&M week. To-oto-o and Eric Gray were told to to sit by compliance, but Pruitt said to hell with it, didn’t care about the compliance staff, and let them play. Pruitt laughed off compliance on multiple occasions apparently.

The reason the investigation happened is that Trey Smith's (OL) sister Ashley Smith, who is an Asst. AD for UT, heard a discussion between players and Niedermeyer about cash and informed a compliance officer. That officer had been getting **** on by Pruitt for not sitting players and heading warnings, so the officer went directly to Chancellor Donde instead of Pruitt or Fulmer, because Fulmer was also complicit. Donde proactively brought in the outside firm to try to mitigate the damage.

Fulmer was the confidential informant on Bama in 1995 which lead to their probation. This is why Bama has such intense disdain for Fulmer over everybody else. It's also this knowledge that lead UT to let him retire so they could pay his $1MM to keep his mouth shut.

UT has been trying to get Pruitt for cause since early in the season. They were trying to get him for not following COVID protocols, but couldn’t get anything to stick. Tee Martin leaked the investigation to the press because he hates Pruitt…context, Tee Martin was forced on Pruitt by Fulmer. Martin doesn’t actually coach, he just recruits and hangs out with players. He didn’t even show up to his first coaching meeting, and was found in his office asleep with Netflix on in the background. LOL. Pruitt hates him, and Tee hates Pruitt. Tee saw a chance to stick it to Pruitt in the public eye and did.

There have now been 50+ known major violations verified and rising.

Vols gonna get hammered
Yep and Georgia who got Mimms and Bummer who also tried to reel him in will not have a damn thing happen to them. Wonder where germy and niedermeyer learnt this operation?

Pruitt learned his trade at Bammer. I just wonder how much more the Dawgs had to spend on recruits.
Doubt it but if they were, they're getting 4 and 5 star players a lot cheaper to play for winning teams, avoiding the decades long Knoxville soap opera and what's become one of the more toxic fan bases in the country. Cade Mays must have an industrial case of buyer's regret and wishes Kevin had taken UGA's offer to compensate him for his unplanned pinkiectomy. It wasn't as if it was his thumb or a serious digit! I mean, how valuable is your pinkie anyway? $3.5M???? I'd swap one of mine for $50K and the opportunity for my son to play for a contender.

There’s really nothing the NCAA can do at this point to hurt the program more than what TN has already don’t to itself. They’re going to struggle for the next 5-10 years anyway.
Half the team is in the portal so there goes any depth and that takes time to build. They may score 30+ points per game next year but will give up 50. They may win 5 or 6 games but it is going to take several years to compete for the East. Heupel and White may be looking for a job in 3.

I think Heupel will be around for 6 years or longer which will be enough to guide Tennessee out of the sh*tstorm they are currently in. There is no way in hell he'll be fired after three years. You think nobody wanted the Tennessee job now just think of the way it will be if you don't give Josh Heupel a chance and fire him after three seasons. The only ones who would take this job would be Division 2,Division 3 or NAIA head football coaches.

Hopefully the NCAA will drag their feet for two years and a slap on the wrist will happen.
The NCAA is useless and needs to be done away with.

Hope nothing happens to you all and this mess gets put behind you.. Tennessee is my second home and I have a soft spot for the Vols.

Nope. Because if he was doing it here, guess where else he was doing it? UGA and Bama.

Jeremy Pruitt will never coach NCAA college football again.
and yet he'll get paid by NYG while UT holds a leaky bag of s***.

Question, the portal is doing significant damage to UT...more than even a typical NCAA L1 punishment. How do they balance the damage already done, the fact that UT actually followed protocol, vs how LSU handled Will Wade/Coach O with no actions yet...and they're living like everything is normal . It seems if they throw the book at UT, it will be next closest thing to SMU death penalty, and they have to realize will give CJH virtually no chance at success...for one of SEC's charter football schools. So, I think, we may see some balance in the punishment, considering damage already done w/ all the transfers...maybe I'm just delusional.

This will be far reaching if the NCAA really pursues. I think a two year bowl ban with 10 scholarships lost this year. It’ll give Heupel 4-5 years to figure this out.

It might take Coach Heupel 4-5 seasons for UT to play well enough to go bowling if the NCAA takes no mercy on Tennessee.

The NCAA should have some kind of inverse severity rule, where if you're caught cheating, yet your team still sucks, your punishment is nixed. We've been punished enough.

Actually it's just the opposite (see UNC BB & other blue bloods) if you are winning and bringing in BIG $$$ for TV the conferences and the NCAA. Then they NIX it , run their fake reporters out there and say they lawyered up with the best money could buy so they just roll with it.
In other words they see Pruitt was systemically cheating at Bama ,UGA & Florida State and their so mad they are going put UT on permanent sanctions. Stop bringing that Blue Blood potion to the bottom feeders.
