NCAA Tournament other games thread

I thought Mikel Brown Jr. was actually hurt but saw a clip of him being interviewed in the locker room post game and the comments were filled with Louisville fans clowning him and claiming his dad shut him down ahead of the draft to protect him. Dioubate for Kentucky did something similar earlier in the year.

Makes me appreciate Ament more for playing through an actual injury and not quitting on his team.

I heard quite a few guest bracketologists on sports talk shows this week, pick Gonzaga to lose early. Said they weren't as good as their seeding.

Mark Few to UNC. Heard it here first.

You know who I think they make a run at all out?

Calipari.

Reasons:
A blue blood and would drive Kentucky fans crazy if he was to win a title or two.

He would actually improve their recruiting at a school that recruits itself. Landing Cal essentially ensures UNC is landing 5 stars almost annually.

UNC can’t fire Davis and afford to go mid major route or up and comer route. Especially with Scheyer’s start at Duke.

They have to land a whale or moving on from Davis would be a mistake.

Cal has zero loyalty or reason to stay at Arkansas. And he showed in the portal and recruiting the talent will follow him regardless of the school.

Wouldn't be shocked. Maybe the Arky job was just an audition for a blue blood job all along. I'd say he passed.

I assume Cal wants another title shot. I don’t think he gets that at Arkansas. But I think he could likely have all the resources to build the best roster in the country year after year at UNC since it’s apparent Scheyer is gonna be at Duke for a long time.

He’s old at 67 but I bet he would have 5-6 years left. UNC would essentially have 5-6 year head start on a succession plan

Doubt UNC is going to hire a coach that will turn 64 this year. Personally, I think UNC fans are in for a rude awakening just like Kentucky when they hired Mark Pope. This is not your mother’s era of college athletics. Tradition and history of a program are less meaningful than ever. It’s all about the Benjamin’s and so many schools are flush with cash and can support winning at a high level without getting run out of town after a few bad years.

Wouldn’t be surprised at all if UNC ends up with someone like Josh Schertz.
