You still need 70-90% of the population to be immune to the virus to achieve '
herd immunity', that's a minimum of 229 million Americans infected to achieve it. If the mortality rate is at the low end of the spectrum, .12% (10 x seasonal influenza), that's ~276,000 deaths, on the low end of 70% , in order to achieve 'herd immunity, it if's even possible.
At the moment, we don't even know if those with antibodies, are safe from reinfection, how long, and whether or not they can get reinfected without showing symptoms and still pass the virus on to those who are not immune.
