I'm not sure I agree with that. Look at the last 30 National Champions. How many of those coaches went anywhere else in the college ranks? Also, for those who did, look at the jobs they ended up taking. Schnellenberger and Erickson both left for the pros, then found themselves in less than ideal situations to win a National Title. The better question is, how many coaches with a national title at one school have ever taken over at another school with a trophy in the case.Saban is what got me to thinking about it. Really good coaches who have won titles and then for what ever reason went to another school. For what ever reason they just don't seem to be able to catch the same magic.

If your point is that guys have left schools after winning a National Championship, then failed to do so at another title level program, I don't agree at all.
