'26 NC OT Leo Delaney

“That visit was really nice,” Delaney said of his time on Rocky Top. “It was my first time up there, so I loved seeing their stadium. It holds over one-hundred thousand people, so that was crazy to see and stand on the field of. I loved spending time with all of their coaches. Coach Elarbee, Coach Heupel, I just had a great time spending the day around them and building those relationships.”

“I like the demeanor he has where it seems like he knows so much about the game,” Delaney said of the Tennessee offensive line coach. “He has so much to teach about the game and is someone who can really take you and maximize your potential.”

“He has told me that he likes my game, and there is always stuff to work on,” Delaney said. “That is something I like to hear. There are so many coaches out there that will tell you what they like about you, but I want to see how you can coach me and see what I can do wrong and how I can fix that.”

“We went over how they run it during the Junior Day,” Delaney said. “They really like to attack every weakness they can find in the defense. They were talking about attacking the open field. They do everything out of an offensive line standpoint. They pull, they do different pass pros, I mean they do every base offensive lineman scheme you could need at the next level, and that really stood out to me. They talked about how their quarterbacks only back up to seven yards, which really helps the tackles, because you are not having to protect the quarterback back at 12 yards.”

Might be too early to answer, but who is the most important ‘26 recruit after Brandon?

Eh I’d say kendre Harrison or Tyler atkinson or samari matthews. We want a mismatch on offense, the next big piece of the front 7 on d, or finally someone we can rely on and make the back 4-5 a strength on d.

Getting a blue-chip OT is always going to be one of the most important and THE most expensive after QB.

Delaney also probably the most realistic. Kendre is realistic but will be a very hard battle, Smoke is getting some Clemson buzz rn, but Atkinson is going to be everyone and their brother so that one might be tough. Would be nice to see Inge start to define a 2026 LB board outside of Atkinson now with him starting to close in on a class here for 2024

But I agree with what you said we needed. I think Carson Sneed can be that mismatch on offense and that also takes away from the priority-ness of absolutely having to land Kendre

Agree… but Kendre is my biggest want in the class though even over Brandon that’s… generational size, talent, and athleticism with that dog mentality

Kendre and sneed are not comparable. One is basically a Darnell Washington clone (maybe even more athletic) and the other is (while a good looking tight end prospect) a question mark to what kind of success he’ll have in college.

Atkinson best relationship is with Huepel. I like where we stand with him. Uga and OSU will likely be our biggest competition. Also, he’s still young, and could develop into an edge. I’d like to see what his measurables after junior days in the spring.

I agree with what you said about bc OTs in general. I like delaney but I’m not sold that he’s a blue chip OT, yet. If so, I agree with you. Some say he’s ot, some say iol, and he’s got another 6 months before we even get a realistic idea of how blue chip or not he could be.

So there's this Sanders kid who's an OT, you not thinking we get him anymore? OHST? The last two recruiting cycles we seem to be the flavor/driver's seat until it gets down to it and then miss... I thought we were in good still with Sanders?

I wasn’t comparing Kendre and Carson. I’m just saying have someone that is as good as Carson that you feel strongly about getting makes getting Delaney more important to land to me. If you’re talking just best players, Kendre might be best in the class lol

I was solely referring to 2026 class targets. David is a 2025 and Tennessee is still in good shape there. Delaney seems to be the top priority on the OL for 2026

Will be a decent number of prospects on the field field for the season opener between PD and Weddington on 8/22.

Oh thanks-- my bad, didn't see the '25-26' difference- Dang if Delaney has another year, he could definitely keep improving and rising in the ranks.
