NBA Trade Rumors

T'wolves would be the real winners in that deal.

I wouldn't trade the 8th pick just to get rid of Richard Hamilton. He has two years left on his contract.

The Cavs would draft Kyrie Irving and Derrick Williams. They'd buyout Richard Hamilton. I think I'd keep the 4th, 8th and Richard Hamilton if I were them.

I don't know who the T'wolves would draft but trading the 2nd pick for the 4th and 8th is solid value.

People think Richard Hamilton would sign with the Bulls. They'd get the SG they desperately need.

Assuming the Cavs are doing this to get Williams at number 2, it is a great deal for the Cavs. He is more valuable than any other two players (not named Irving) in this draft combined.

More valuable as a draft pick. We'll have to see if that holds true a few years after these guys have actually stepped foot on the court. You've got guys like Darko Millicic and Adam Morrison who are drafted in the top 3 and then you got guys like Monta Ellis and Jose Barea who go in the 2nd round or undrafted. Obviously that isn't the norm but it wouldn't be shocking if there are players drafted after Kyrie Irving or Derrick Williams that turned out to be better. As far as hype and paper go, I agree they hold the most value.

It should be noted that the Cavs could trade J.J. Hickson if Derrick Williams doesn't work out at SF. As of now, I'd take J.J. Hickson over Derrick Williams.

Wolves would take Biyombo with one of the picks and package the other for a vet

I'm not sure what that means. You wouldn't?

J.J. Hickson 22yrs(Sept 4 1988) - 3rd yr pro
80gp 28.2min 13.8pts 8.7rebs 1.1ast 45.8%

Derrick Williams 21yrs(May 15 1990) - 2nd yr college
38gp 30.0min 19.5pts 8.3rebs 1.1ast 59.5%

Derrick Williams could easily end up better but I'm not sure I see the point in trading away a 22 year old you know can play in the NBA for a 21 year old that never has. It's not like he is a sure thing like Lebron, Dwight or Rose. The upside is there but it's also there for any top 3 pick. Doesn't mean he is guaranteed to be good. Why not draft three players(1st, 4th, 8th) around PF Hickson? PG Kyrie Irving, C Enes Kanter and SF Kawai Leonard or SF Marcus Morris.

Or you could go with Irving at PG, Williams at SF an Hickson at PF and have a nice foundation to build on. I'm not sure why you seem so inclined to believe that the Cavs would trade Hickson if they draft Williams.

That's what was said if Derrick Williams doesn't work out at SF. Not saying it would definitely happen, just what I read. He has the range and he is athletic but at 6'8 241, he's pretty big. Hickson is 6'9 242.

If he can play SF, it wouldn't be an issue. Just sounded like he might be more of a power forward. It sounds like that's part of the reason the T'wolves are looking to get rid of the #2 pick instead of drafting him.

I guess I would just like the odds of landing a quality better when you have two players instead of one. Moving from 4 for to 2 is only two spots and you give up the 8. When you're as bad as the Cavs, the more you can stockpile, the better. Unless of course you think you're getting the second coming of Lebron.

And if they really wanted Williams, they could take him at 1 and draft Knight at 4. Then they wouldn't have to give up anything for Williams. They must really want Irving though.

I'll add something I found on BullsConnect.

Michael Wilbon reports on PTI, that their is a growing interest in Chicago, a growing buzz, now from credible people, that the Bulls are interested in getting involved in the pursuit of the greatest center in the NBA, ultra-athletic and ultra-talented, Dwight Howard!!

Not sure how they'd pull that off. Might need another team to make it work. I thought the Lakers would have to give up both Bynum and Gasol to get him. So the Bulls would have to give up something like Noah, Deng and Boozer. Probably have to take back Arenas or Turkoglu's contract.
