NBA Playoffs Thread

Rumor has it Warriors want Anthony Davis. Not sure how that works, but I would guess they have to give up Klay?

So PG convinces LBJ to join OKC, Reddick signs for the league minimum, Melo opts in and is traded for more shooting, and The Thunder **** whip The Warriors in 5. And LBJ does what,KD couldn't, win a ring with Russ...book it

OKC smashed the Warriors twice last year, got smashed once and lost by 4, both loses they didn't have Dre. Defensively they were built to beat the Warriors more than anyone in the NBA, replace Melo with LBJ and it's a problem.

This covers what we've been talking about:

Dealing James for a package centered on Anderson would likely push Cleveland deep into the luxury tax next season, so that idea is probably a nonstarter. Any trade involving Anderson would require a third team with cap space to take on his contract in exchange for future picks, allowing the Cavaliers to cut their payroll. Alas, Houston's first-rounders the next few seasons would have limited value with LeBron on the roster, and there will be more teams looking to shed salary than add it. So it would probably take at least two and maybe three first-rounders to persuade another team to take on Anderson -- without compensating Cleveland.

Instead, the Rockets may have to live with Anderson on their books and find another trade package for James.

Assuming the Rockets are limited to players currently under contract -- sign-and-trade rules would also be challenging on the Cavs' end of the deal -- Houston would have to trade basically everyone besides Harden and Anderson.

The Rockets would be required to send out at least $28.4 million in matching salary after the end of the July moratorium, and a package of Eric Gordon, Aaron Jackson, Nene, Chinanu Onuaku, PJ Tucker and Zhou Qi would add up to $29.4 million.

So theoretically I guess they could end up signing Ariza and Capela after the fact? That'd be a hell of a starting 5, but the bench would be a joke and you'd be relying on CP3 to stay healthy.

LeBron James to the Houston Rockets this summer? Here's how it could happen - NBA

Who and how?

I think his best choices (of the ones he is reportedly considering) are:

Boston
Stay another year in CLE, then decide
Houston
Lakers

Can’t forget about the Spurs.

Him & Pop have a great relationship.

He’s not getting any younger and it would be the perfect time to get some real coaching.

Plus if they resign Leonard, watch out.

If they keep Leonard, that's an awesome landing spot. I wasn't aware Lebron was considering it.

You really think Kyrie is going to want to play with LBJ again? I dont see it. He went to Boston to get away from LBJ. So I would say Boston is out.

Lebron could stay in Cleveland, have serious talk with Gilbert about him finishing his career there. Then he could tell him hey spend the money and go get somebody. I find it hard to believe that another superstar would not want to come and play with Lebron.

But I think there is something else that may happen. LBJ may just sit out next year and then wait and see where other big time superstars will sign. Then make his decision.

I'll check it out

British anthology dark comedy, usually with a bit of a horrorish twist. Just finished season 1, aside from episode 4 it was pretty solid. Pretty creative writing, episode 2 doesn't have a single word spoken till the end and is pretty brilliant. IMO

Meaning opt in and stay in Cleveland, or just not play at all? Because there's zero chance the latter happens

I wouldn't be shocked to see Lue leave either. I think he's had a really tough time emotionally and mentally the last couple years.
