NBA Playoffs Thread

Goes to the locker room after the game giving fist bumps and secret handshakes with his right hand while nursing his left hand. Shows up to the press conference with cast on his right hand. Lulz. "Pretty much played with a broken hand" my ass.

I believe LeBron was hurt - but I also believe he quit. Which isn’t great but you can understand it. There’s literally nothing he could do. He had the best game of his life in Game 1, and got a fair amount of help from various role players, and they still ****ed it up for him. He wasn’t going to get the perfect storm again and he knew it.

A sweep doesn’t change the fact that this was the worst team LeBron or MJ would have ever played on and this Warriors team is the best team either of them would have ever played. The debate rages on.

Replace LeBron with Jordan and the Heat don't lose to the Mavericks in 2011.....

When comparing the two resumes, that one series just tilts the GOAT discussion in favor of MJ. LeBron still has chapters to write so it could change.....

Replace LeBron with Jordan and the Warriors don’t lose to the Cavs in 2016 either

Just stop. It took an all time, bonheaded miracle play for the Cavs to lose game 1. In game 3, even with KD going off, GS only wins by 8. Games 2 and 4 were fairly dominant for GS. But lets get the facts straight. The series could have easily been 2-2. So this whole notion that GS is this unstoppable juggernaut is just false.

Game 1 was close because LeBron scored 51 points...the Warriors were the biggest Finals favorites in decades

I’m sure he is exhausted. My respect for Lebron grew this playoffs. He carried an entire team basically. No one on GS had to do that.

Here's Lebron James shot chart. I think it suggests that he probably does have a hurt hand* and that there was a lot of effort to get to the rim (add 11 FTA's). He had 23, 7, and 8 shooting an efficient TS%. He had also played something like 41 of 43 minutes when they took him out...but he quit? He didn't have his jump shot to fall back on and he's 33, 250 lbs, trying to play 41 of 43 minutes in his 105th game of the year (or whatever it was). None of us has any idea what that's like. Nobody else on the floor last night knows what that would be like.

*I think there are two fair criticisms coming out of this series....his reaction on the bench in game 1 and punching the whiteboard. Just stupid, but I can understand because I wanted to punch something. The refs blew it and there is nothing more frustrating.

This. Was he perfect in this playoffs? No. Is it a top 5 playoffs performance? Undoubtedly. People picking out the few bad things and focusing on that are completely transparent in their bias. He grew his legend this offseason.

Yeah it’s absolutely silly. He had one of the all time great individual playoffs while carrying a team that would be lucky to win 25 games without him to the Finals and people are talking about how damaging all that is to his legacy.

It’s a 100% emotion filled, hateful, adolescent way of thinking.

Hanlen is a good trainer but that doesnt guarantee success. Wiggins trains with him every year and he's the same player he was 4 years ago. Kawhi makes Philly a better team than adding Lebron imo

Definitely not a guarantee but what’s wrong with Wiggins is not really something to fixed by a trainer..... hopefully drew can help correct his shot at least back to where it was which drew has been successful with.

I’m sure it’s been waxed ad nauseam for the last 2 years, but I wonder if KD still bolts if that franchise never moved.

I don't see why that would have changed anything. Still the same team and teammates, and weak mentality to join the team you can't beat. Unless Seattle rain makes you not want to take the easy route. Lol

I don’t know if kawhi does.... with Lebron we would be keeping fultz, saric, and cov......plus kawhi is just signed through next year so I would want to have a good feeling he would stay.

All we hear lately is appreciate LBJ now because he won't be around forever. How about a little appreciation for the Golden State Warriors. I watched about 30 minutes of ESPN this morning and no mention about the champs. Just speculation on where the runner up's best player may take his talents to.

Sack up and go to the Knicks King. Basketball needs that team to be good again.

That's kinda what I was thinking, the Knicks have been terrible forever and basketball is fine.

The atmosphere in the Garden for even relatively close/big games is pretty awesome though.

And the funny thing is - for all the talk - the Knicks only have one championship right?

They’ve been dog **** for most of their history.

It's not the rain so much as me wondering if there's something to be said for being "the guy" in Seattle vs. being the guy in Oklahoma. Nothing against OKC. It's a great town, but being the king of an "It" west coast city like Seattle? I just wonder if it would have played a role in his decision.

Exactly my point. Even though the Warriors were huge favorites, this Cavs team still could have easily won 2 games. If they would have won game 1, the whole series could have been different.

So the only reason game 1 was close is because of LBJ? That's hilarious. You are just another LBJ excuse maker.

Having 2 finals sweeps on your resume damages your legacy. Sorry but thats a fact. Lebron James is a mt rushmore player. Just not the GOAT. This series permanently eliminated him from that convo. There is no shame in that.
