Oh, I totally was as a kid. I loved the A's in the late 80s. The Cowboys and Hornets in the early 90s. The Sonics in the mid 90s. Duke (still like them, but that has more to do with liking them for being so hated, rather than liking them for being good).

Oh I used to like Nebraska in football too. I'm diehard UT, but I enjoy following other college players. Was a Tommy Frazier fan. Liked Lute and Tom O. as coaches too.

I totally agree. I liked Lebron quite a bit, but I didn't care if he won or not until everyone went ape on him. Also, he was great in Cleveland, but he's untouchable in Miami. Basketball porn.
I loved Redick for the same reason. Dude got hated on the road more than any college hoopster I've ever seen and he'd drop 25 on everybody.

Yes, but I was 9 so I guess I don't remember that aspect of it. That Duke team is the first time I remember caring about any sport other than MLB. I was living in DC, and back in those days you didn't get SEC football games too often.
