Nationalized Voting

I understand that your brain is starting to atrophy now that you're retired so I understand your cornfusion. The county registrars office where you register to vote is not the DMV where you get a drivers license. That may explain some of the problems you have had.
Oh ok yeah this is gonna be an awesome outcome too. Because making everyone have to all now register in person will go smooth. Primaries are in March let’s get on it!

Yeah big oops. A non real ID DL, a real ID DL, or a super duper real ID golden ticket DL. Only the last one meets your criteria.

Aaaaaaaaaaand now you’ve pivoted back around to forcing people to get a passport.

But sure you’ve covered it 🤡
I think you'd do better if you decided to stop just anger-posting at me, and really just slowed down and thought about this.

Again:

(1) TN is an example of a state that already requires documentation about citizenship/residency status to get a DL/ID.
(1b) TN has not proven to be overly burdensome. They issue DLs and IDs every day.

(2) It would be a small step to begin adding that designation to all IDs and DLs they issue going forward.

(3) If someone wanted to have that taken care of sooner than their next re-issue, they can go down and have a new ID/DL issued with the designation on it.
(3a) If they don't, they don't have to.

(4) If the new legislation is passed, they'll have to show it somewhere, at some time.
(4a) I don't see it as an insurmountable obstacle to give them choices about where/when/how they do so, while phasing out the issue for everyone eventually as new DLs and IDs are issued as normal course of business.

If somebody doesn’t have a passport what do you think you’re gonna use exactly? A quick google tells me about half of US citizens hold a passport. And that is apparently a very significant increase in the count from the not too distant pass.

There are these things called birth certificates, I understand that back in your day when most people were born at home with a midwife they weren't as common but over the last 6 or so decades most people get one.

Oh I’ve read everything you’ve typed to me. I simply don’t buy your self verified BS on how simple it is. And no you won’t shift the burden to me that’s on you to prove and you haven’t.

And I’ve got another tee time!

I just don't think the DMV should have anything to do with questions of citizenship, in my experience you have to be a certified moron to work there. When I went to have the Veteran tag put on my DL I had the moron working the desk and her moron supervisor tell me my DD214 wasn't a DD214. It took a state trooper to tell them they were idiots before they would relent.
You're welcome to that belief, of course.

As shown, TN already is in the business of doing so. The proposed legislation is already saying they will trust licenses with that designation. Offering the DMV and license renewal as an option doesn't seem to be the catastrophic idea that is being assured via premonition.

Prerequisite for a passport. And it requires a CERTIFIED birth certificate. Over simplification denied.

Well I mean … you’ve convinced yourself of that anyway without even recognizing multiple times how it will now result in three different levels of drivers licenses. Yes it really will.

Now off to get ready for golf have fun at work!

I've indeed gotten a DL in TN.

And no you won’t shift the burden to me that’s on you to prove and you haven’t.

The only burden on you is proving your ability to tell the future. Otherwise, my prediction that it would all be OK would be just as valid as yours.

My argument is: If this legislation is passed, states could start putting citizenship on the new IDs they issue. People will have to show the documents somewhere. Shouldn't hurt to give people options on when and where. And it would eventually phase out the issue of havibg to specially prove citizienship as a separate requirement to vote. TN already proves that requiring that information isn't a defeater to the process of issuing DLs/IDs.

Your argument basically comes down to: I think you're an **hole and I don't like the way you post. (Also, I can predict the future, so there!)

And I’ve got another tee time!

Good to know. I hope you shoot 5 under.

speaking of, apparently I am too ugly to get my passport renewed.

went to the post office and had my picture taken months ago. rejected due to image quality, but they said I was eligible for online renewal, just snap a picture with my phone to upload. 3 (1 android, 2 apple) phones, 2 different alternate camera apps, and about two dozen photos later they are still rejecting my pictures due to "imagequality". files meet the file size requirement, you can see individual hairs on my head, so it isn't blurry. only option left is I am too ugly to be let out of the country.
Your mug is too ugly and too embarrassing to represent America abroad. Yikes, that's a gut punch.

Good thing Mrs Louder is legally blind.

I have! About four times now! Go back and read. Tee time!
No. You haven't. You've made bald assertions via broken comparisons.

I am perfectly willing to change my opinion and abandon my argument if you can show how states adding a checkbox on their future DL/ID issues is creating "three different levels" of drivers licenses and then additionally how that would be insurmountable.

Again: If this legislation passes, people will have to show proof of citizenship somewhere. Period. Please show how giving them choices of how/where/when to do so, while phasing the 'problem' out through daily business as usual activities, would be such a bad thing?
