Do you believe that if the d get power back leaning POTUS, house, and Congress they won't do the exact same and more.mmhrll they started in 20...just so poorly done to failed because they l didnt don't legally
Ahh yes the age old conservative mantra, “At some point in the future liberals might have all the power and may use that power against us, so we must break all the laws now because they might in the future!!!!” Can’t beat that logic.
How do you reduce power already given via the constitution..??? Just because the power hasn't been used doesn't mean it doesn't exist. You all will use the same exact playbook the Trump admin is using to increase federal power to push your agenda. Just gonna be funny hearing Rs whining to "reduce the power of the fed govt" once you take back over....
The Constitution gives them the ability to write a law that WOULD give them the power. the power doesn't currently exist now under the Constitution, or the current laws. so no the government does not have the power, as it does not exist at all.How do you reduce power already given via the constitution..??? But the power is there to write the law... They are not doing anything unconsitutional. It's boiling down to personal opinion not legality... I'm concerned with legality. The Constitution gives them the ability to write a law that WOULD give them the power. the power doesn't currently exist now under the Constitution, or the current laws. so no the government does not have the power, as it does not exist at all.
Like if Trump tried to EO this, it would be unConstitutional. or if he just tasked the DoJ to take over elections it would be unConstitutional.
the Constitution protects the unfettered rights of individuals, not government power.
The states are supposed to run the elections not the federal govt. Congress has power to create guidelines for the states, but not outright run them. Also kind of ignoring that trump tried to appropriate powers regarding the elections by executive order earlier. How is this contra to the Constitution?
It was a liberal that made that assertion as the reason that conservatives should feel grumpy about the president legally making election reforms that conservatives have generally wanted for decades, and should desire that he not do so.Ahh yes the age old conservative mantra, “At some point in the future liberals might have all the power and may use that power against us, so we must break all the laws now because they might in the future!!!!” Can’t beat that logic.

it is a matter of legality. just like you can't be charged for crime before the law is in effect, there is no power/legality before the law.But the power is there to write the law... They are not doing anything unconsitutional. It's boiling down to personal opinion not legality... I'm concerned with legality.
So wait if I can legally do something.... Your saying it not within my power to do so??? Are you saying they have v be to follow voter id before Congress legislates it?it is a matter of legality. just like you can't be charged for crime before the law is in effect, there is no power/legality before the law.
the legality is to write the law. which would then give them the power. the power doesn't exist before the law. congress could just as easily write a law enshrining it as a state power, and then Trump would be up crap creek.
there is no governmental power to "do" something, before they have the actual law behind it to do whatever. again the Constitution is a LIMIT on the federal government, 10th amendment. only WHEN Congress passes a law does the government doing something, assuming its constitutional, become legal. So wait if I can legally do something.... Your saying it not within my power to do so???
