I'll just leave this here....
If your single in Nashville, I would highly suggest that park, near Cheekwood, that has all those stone steps, that lead up to the walking trails, and if yoga pants and tank tops isn't what your looking for, check out the Nashville Roller Derby, at the fairgrounds.
The roller derby was awesome
Sorry for the year late bump, but any suggestions on places near The Opry?
We're taking my music obsessed nephew on Friday.
I'm aware of the Opry Mills type chains, and with a kid we may very well end up there, but I thought I'd at least see if there's any where semi-near there worth checking out.
The Barvarian Bierhaus at Opry Mills is actually pretty good. Very family friendly. The food is very good so dont get scared cause its German. The waitstaff will help you out.
Was gonna say this. Otherwise venture away from the Opry area.
My wife and my parents are big German fans, so they'd be fine. Nephew is the least picky kid I've ever seen so he'd probably love it.
That's what we were thinking, I didn't know if there was anything else of interest in the area (a short-ish drive away) we could eat at before the show.
My wife and I usually go over 2 or 3 times a year so I'm all ears for any other suggestions I can use when its just us.
Where are you coming in from? Good spots in East that would only be 10-15 minutes away.
Yah, in East Nashville you have...
One Edley's location.
Five Points Pizza
The Pharmacy
There's also a Bolton's if you like hot chicken.
Best brisket: Martin's BBQ. Also, try the Farmhand Fries if you're not dieting.
Best ribs/pork: Peg Leg Porker.
Best all around BBQ: Edley's. I really enjoy the wings here.
Best burger: Burger Republic in The Gulch.
Best pizza joint: Mafiaozas. Wide selection of good outside of pizza and a good beer list.
Best breweries: Yazoo, Czann's, Smith and Lentz, New Heights.
Best craft beer bars: Hops and Crafts and The Filling Station.
Best hot chicken: Hattie B's
5 Points is my favorite pizza in Nashville. For a burger, I'm a Gabby's fan.
Batter'd and Fried is the seafood place referenced above and it is a solid joint for fried fish.
Southern Grist is the best brewery going IMHO.
I haven't been to this seafood place, and I really wanted to go...however one of my friends told me it smelled like "rotten vagina" and now I'm terrified.
Gabby's is only open at lunch, FYI.
I haven't had Southern Grist beer yet. They are building a new facility on the west side.
