There are policies that put police in higher contact with lower income areas. More often than not its the practices and behaviors that cause these interactions. Having a wife who has worked 18 years in criminal justice gives me a pretty good perspective.
Let we give the revolving example. Guy is popped for simple possession. He isn’t arrested but cited. He’ll likely get diversion or fine and go on if he appears. He fails to appear. Now, there is a a failure to appear warrant issued. He’s popped again (because people like this break laws all the time) and due to warrant he is booked into the system. This is the pattern and just one example.
You can’t imagine the self inflicted, stupid crap people do, or the he disparate mentality. You can’t fathom the domestics assaults that often lead to these things. Where others in the same boat call the cops to come in and deal with this garbage.
Driving on suspended and then breaking the traffic laws that get them pulled over again. They don’t pay their fines. In my county, these folks are overwhelmingly white, but it’s the same ****.
What police need to do is stop responding to domestics in urban areas. Let those communities figure it out. Robbed? Oh, well. Better have insurance. Assaulted? Too bad. Don’t call the police.
If you look at the stats you’ll find that there is a better case for discrimination against males by police. The ratio of men to women killed by police is far more slanted.
