Sorry you cant read between the lines.

If BLM was legit, it would read something like....we strive to reinvigorate the black nuclear family.

But it dont, cause it aint.
I understand exactly what it is saying; it's you guys who are having the problem.

The nuclear family has been on a decline since then. And the most affected race is the African American race.

Ras has mentioned some stats and others have as well. In 1940, 13% of black children were born out of wedlock and only 3% of white children. Today, 75% of black children are born out of wedlock and 30% of white children. The stat we don't have is how many of those parents go on to wed but that is still a telling statistic. I believe this is from the Heritage Foundation.

So you take issue that I did not quote them word for word. Big surprise.
I take issue with your total miss-characterization of their goal.
What you claimed is categorically false and does nothing more than perpetuate already ignorant beliefs.

What about “disrupt the Western-prescribed nuclear family” did I not understand?

Please take this as a rhetorical question because I do not intend to engage you in a pointless, protracted argument.

Your position on this Board and as an apologist for the BLM crowd is clear enough.

These people that claim to care about black lives care nothing about the thing that is most missing in impoverished black communities, the father.
You guys are borderline hopeless.
They do not discount the role of a father at all. What they do is acknowledge the reality that many black families are not the traditional nuclear family and work to make the best of that reality.

This is actually the quote from their official site.
We disrupt the Western-prescribed nuclear family structure requirement by supporting each other as extended families and “villages” that collectively care for one another, especially our children, to the degree that mothers, parents, and children are comfortable.
Read it carefully, it is in no way saying that their goal is to further erode the traditional nuclear family.
Misinformation and it's immediate consumption by others continues to be one of the biggest hurdles.
Western prescribed?
What does “disrupt” mean to you?

Huge statistic. It's a breakdown of the family unit and it has floated to the surface in an ugly way. No responsibility, no one teaching these boys how to be a man.

I think they should've gotten someone with better editing skills.
I think they're trying to say they "reject the necessity of a traditional nuclear family structure."
"Disrupt" is a horrible word choice there.

Nice use of the partial quote tactic.......I'll give the whole passage again.

Apologist for BLM? Give me a break. I'm just fighting against the mind boggling ignorance of so many in the PF.

They disrupt your view of traditional western writings.

They disrupt the requirement. Hell you guys have been saying the nuclear family requirement has been increasingly disrupted since the 70's. They are acknowledging what is obvious.
You're castigating them for saying what we already know?

never mind, I re-read what you said. That works.

Yup it was a bad choice to use that word .. unless they meant it .

They don't reject it. That would be a horrible word for them to have used.
Luther, you and I are educators, and I have no desire to really argue with you. Please pull your head out of your butt, however. You can reject something on your own without causing disruption to others. Disrupt has a terrible connotation in a climate in which many people might be perceiving your position as more radical than it is.

Edit: OK, I saw where you edited above. HA Carry on

I read it carefully. Many of the words are unnecessary and add no meaning.

I interpreted the following: BLM rejects the nuclear family structure.

They disrupt the requirement. Hell you guys have been saying the nuclear family requirement has been increasingly disrupted since the 70's. They are acknowledging what is obvious.
You're castigating them for saying what we already know?
Disrupt is almost an antonym of acknowledge.

This is a strange interpretation even for you.

I edited my response immediately.

It builds like compound interest.
