The nuclear family has been on a decline since then. And the most affected race is the African American race.
What about “disrupt the Western-prescribed nuclear family” did I not understand?I take issue with your total miss-characterization of their goal.
What you claimed is categorically false and does nothing more than perpetuate already ignorant beliefs.
You guys are borderline hopeless. These people that claim to care about black lives care nothing about the thing that is most missing in impoverished black communities, the father.
Western prescribed? This is actually the quote from their official site.
We disrupt the Western-prescribed nuclear family structure requirement by supporting each other as extended families and “villages” that collectively care for one another, especially our children, to the degree that mothers, parents, and children are comfortable.
Read it carefully, it is in no way saying that their goal is to further erode the traditional nuclear family.
Misinformation and it's immediate consumption by others continues to be one of the biggest hurdles.
Huge statistic. It's a breakdown of the family unit and it has floated to the surface in an ugly way. No responsibility, no one teaching these boys how to be a man.Ras has mentioned some stats and others have as well. In 1940, 13% of black children were born out of wedlock and only 3% of white children. Today, 75% of black children are born out of wedlock and 30% of white children. The stat we don't have is how many of those parents go on to wed but that is still a telling statistic. I believe this is from the Heritage Foundation.
Nice use of the partial quote tactic.......I'll give the whole passage again. What about “disrupt the Western-prescribed nuclear family” did I not understand?
Please take this as a rhetorical question because I do not intend to engage you in a pointless, protracted argument.
Your position on this Board and as an apologist for the BLM crowd is clear enough.

Luther, you and I are educators, and I have no desire to really argue with you. Please pull your head out of your butt, however. You can reject something on your own without causing disruption to others. Disrupt has a terrible connotation in a climate in which many people might be perceiving your position as more radical than it is.They don't reject it. That would be a horrible word for them to have used.

Disrupt is almost an antonym of acknowledge. They disrupt the requirement. Hell you guys have been saying the nuclear family requirement has been increasingly disrupted since the 70's. They are acknowledging what is obvious.
You're castigating them for saying what we already know?
I edited my response immediately.Luther, you and I are educators, and I have no desire to really argue with you. Please pull your head out of your butt, however.
