I really have no idea who the candidates are at this point. Some suggest that TT may get invited back. Some think Brown still may be an option. Some think that Cignetti may be our only option. Some think Adkins may back into the position. Phil had better have some other options out there, because pickings definitely seem to be think, especially considering he wants the hirings done in a little over a week.

I thought the Lions were supposed to announce yesterday. I read about Troop being back on the list. Like others, I am starting to wonder if we haven't even heard the name of the guy who ends up with the job.

Still hoping for KB until an official announcement is made that rules him out (if that can happen as I thought we had an official announcement on Troop??). If his brother was the only issue, I'm not sure how bad it would be to have both. Thought his brother had experience with special teams which couldn't be all bad. He has a job at IU, which isn't impressive, but it's not like KB would have been asking to add a HS coach to the staff.

if adkins gets the job, i'm going to be very disappointed.

I've seen Hatcher's name on lists by the KNS and the Chattanooga paper. His name has at least been suggested.

I cant imagine anyone hating Chuck Taylors.....they dont call them All-Stars for nothing.

CPF has said that none of the members of his staff were, are, or will be candidates for the position. I suppose you can rule out Adkins and Trooper. He also said that he has conducted a couple interviews while in Tampa. We know that the Michigan QB coach was one. He says things will heat up around the 3rd-4th and that multiple interviews will be conducted and that they won't just be over the phone. He still plans to hire the OC first and then the other pieces will fall in quickly. He wants the OC to be comfortable with the other coaches, but he has an idea of who he wants to fill those positions. He still plans on this being all finished by the middle of next week.

Surely, there's some compromise between the two extremes that both CPF and KB would have expected.

I think the Admin at Tenn. need to take the advice from FSU hire and OC to become HC in the future. CPF is a good coach but this day and age of football you don't need good coaches you need great coaches. Whatever happen to Jon Gruden's name in the hat for HC
