narrowed down OC list

Correction. We narrowed down our o/c"offers". The "list" is slowly turning into a comedy sketch if we keep making offers and the rejections continue.

The comedy sketch is watching people who think they know something try to report on the whole process.
Everybody is dying to be an "insider" instead of just letting the process work itself out.

I'll believe it when I see it. So you're telling me that he already knows who he wants? Had Mike Martz not been fired I would have believed that because it would have been KB. Now, I think Phil's scrambling a little bit.

I only hope that's right.

Due to his status as an NCAA stool pigeon, Fulmer probably has fewer "connections" than any coach at a major program. There are a whole slew of people who would never consider working for him.

Fulmer may have fewer connections than some because he's been at Tennessee for almost his entire career.

good point. when you've refrained from job hopping, it narrows your scope a little. While someone like Nick Saban must have connections coming out of his ears.

As long as Greg Adkins don't get it I will be fine, heck for that matter we might as well hire Randy Sanders back as OC

Insiders come out of the woodwork in situations like this because nobody.....save Fulmer.....knows what is going to happen.

As far as the process is concerned as long as "work itself out" doesn't mean destroying all other options in order to hire Trooper and or Adkins I am all for it.

The OC job will probably go to someone whose name hasn't been leaked to the media and hasn't been discussed up to this point.

It does sound like after Fulmer's first two choices, Spence and K Brown were out he didn't have a third choice in mind and is starting fresh.

From what I understand about Marrone, he probably makes 500k as an NFL OC. It's difficult to imagine he would return as college OC to make around 300k. Doesn't seem like a good move for him.

You have to at least consider members of your staff for a position like this, or they end up feeling slighted and leave. I think that is what Fulmer is doing with Adkins.

I agree it will proly be someone noone thought of or it will be someone you wish he hadn't chosen. all in all i hope we can step it up for the 08 season or we wont make it to ATL next year, but who thought we would have this year?

You'd think they'd at least leak the name to see what kind of response the fans have. I don't know how much they consider the politics, but those are important factors to the amount of support the program gets.
