I have thought for a long time that removing the names on the back of our jerseys might not be a bad idea. Now that we have several USC coaches, what are the chances the name of the back comes off? I would like it personally. I have always been told, The name of the team is more important than the name on the back.

Last night in the Utah bball game, I thought it was neat that they all had UTAH as their last name on their Jersey's.

They lost however, so I don't think changes to the Uniform make that big a difference.

Even if they did take the name off the back they wouldn't replace it with TN. It would just be the number, like PSU

technically they could do what previous poster was talking about with UTAH bball having just UTAH on the back. I think that'd be kool

I think it's kind of nice watching a game and knowing who is who without having to pull up the internet and google a jersey number. I don't mean to be a smart azz but if you play any harder because your name has been removed from the back of your jersey than you probably shouldn't be playing for Tennessee. However, if it works, order Bruce a dozen jerseys without the player's name on them.

We won the championship with names on the back so no. And Notre Dame doesn't have names also and we see where their program is now.

This question is about as lame and worn out as the black jersey one. A new version pops up monthly.

Putting the name on the back of the jersey has ZERO, I repeat ZERO impact on how a player plays football. Usc wins because they recruit star players and have good coaches. Novel concept

Yeah every team besides USC that played in the BCS had names on the back of their jerseys. It has no effect on players. As a competitor you forget about anything outside of the game most times until the game is over. Names are usually the last things on your mind. Winning comes first.

LOL at your post :)

I don't think Penn St or Notre Dame have names on their jerseys.
