Nakos reporting Aguilar is trending to be named the starter

- The difference between making the playoffs and not, potentially.

- If the staff had full confidence in Merk being the 2025 starter, they would not have brought in a guy with Aguilar's resume.

- His 2023 numbers at App State were very good.

- We see 15 minutes of practice a day from beat reporters against air. Trying to judge that is insanity.

- We have no clue if he will play Faizon or not.
So you're gonna just ignore JA's 2024 stats, which are more recent and not very good?

Not surprising really it was always Aguilar’s job to lose he has the most game experience and that’s why Heup got him. I hope the young man can go out and have a great season for us. I think Nerk will end up transfering. Gmac will be the QB in 2026

So you're just going to ignore they had a TERRIBLE OL and NO running game in '24 and a coach that would be fired at the end of the season? He was pressing and taking chances to try and make plays in '24. Dude came in and in his first start on D1 takes a pretty good North Carolina team to double OT as 18 point underdogs. He will not need to do that here as this offense, despite the criticisms, does generate open WRs down the field and and does not generate many INTs from ANY of our QBs. Look beyond the numbers and you will see JA is the answer

At this point, I'll take any QB on the roster over Nico and be content with the outcome/record.

Oh, so now we're gonna ignore stats and blame OL, coaches, running game, etc? Look, he's here because we couldn't get anybody else, calling him the answer is a far stretch. I'm not gonna sit here and trash him but, I just think that it makes more sense to start Merk, that's it.

Merk has to stay the course, stay focused and realize he had a great opportunity but possibly has squandered it. His chance will come during the season and he's got to be ready.

Milton was better in practice at UT by everyone's word who actually saw practice.

You and I are basing our view of QBs on minutes of film not even dedicated to just watching the QBs. C'mon. What we think is irrelevant to what is actually being shown in practice.

Unless you're out there for the whole practice or have access to the film of practice, you're basically making a blind choice.

Not to mention Josh Heupel who has ACTUALLY made a career of coaching and picking players. Is he perfect? No. Would I trust him more than me to know a QB? Uh, yes.
Based on Milton’s performance in the pros so far, I’m not so sure Josh wasn’t right about the talent. Hooker was a perfect fit for that offense but I can’t say he has more talent than Milton.

I mean Merk looked horrible in the spring game so not sure why or what would lead anyone to believe he’s the better option?
I kept telling everyone that his internal clock is not good enough to start right now. Rarely saw him go through his reads either (I know the offense is typically set for the first read).
