if your going to dream, dream big...
SEC WEST... TEXAS, OKLAHOMA, TEXAS A&M, OKLAHOMA STATE
SEC SOUTH... LSU, ARKANSAS, OLE MISS, MISS STATE
SEC EAST.... ALABAMA, AUBURN, FLORIDA, GEORGIA,
SEC NORTH... TENNESSEE, SOUTH CAROLINA, VANDY, KENTUCKY (not that I tried to stack the odds in favor of the vols)
All because Texas is scared of the Sec.
Its all a moot point now. With the Big 12ish officially staying together, this expansion talk is done.

Texas' preference was to stay in a conference where they were in control and could start their own network. They weren't scared of the SEC, they just didn't feel they could maximize their $$$ value here. There were never discussions between the SEC and Texas.
This isn't about on-field competition, it was 100% about money. If Texas thought the most money would come from being in the SEC, then they would have been here. That wasn't going to be the case.
Texas needed rid of Nebraska, that's exactly what they accomplished. They also succeeded in getting the recruiting perception advantage over the other Big12ish schools.
And the reason they needed to be rid of Nebraska was obvious, Nebraska was a thorn in their side because of the resentment due to inequality. That inequality hasn't been addressed, exactly it is just the opposite and it will only be a matter of time before the problem surfaces again.
