My thought on Hurd for Heisman.

The Nobel Peace Prize does actually mean something to people that can hold a meaningful, thought provoking conversation. Since you don't fall in that category, I understand your sentiment.

How absurdly judgemental and sanctimonious of you. BTY, pray tell how does a Nobel Peace Prize mean anything other than a politically correct popularity contest to whom the winner is awarded an obscene amount of money? Quit patting yourself on the back. You sound foolish....

To be fair, if you put yourself in the driver seat during your marquee games, it doesn't matter when they exist (as long as you don't willingly get out of the moving vehicle). If you go out there and crush Florida and Alabama and Georgia and are the shining reason for why the team won, then you'll be tracked the rest of the way to see you destroy the competition.

And also, if he were to be in the running for the award, we'd be in Atlanta. So the narrative would go something like, "Well, here we have Jalen Hurd. Yeah, we all saw what he did running for 175 against the Tide. Ever since, he's been padding his stats against lower competition. Let's see what he can do in the championship game. Tennessee vs. LSU. Hurd vs. Fournette. Winner gets a NC birth and the halfback probably gets the Heisman."

Still think in this dream scenario that Dobbs is the candidate

I agree with you on this one. We have 5 games for Hurd to show off in with lots of people watching. We can't repeat last year where Hurd bulldozes to 10 then Dobbs does something amazing the next play to get it into the end zone. No one cares about the 30 yard run to the 10. They care about the one that gets in the end zone. Now if Hurd racks up 175+ yards and 3+ TDs in all of our 5 big games then he will be in the Heisman talk. Push those numbers to 200+ yards and 4+ TD a game and he will be the front runner

But if Dobbs puts up about 250 a game and continues to be a gamechanger when on the run, the narrative will be Dobbs-centric. If he becomes Pro Style quarterback, throws for 250, and all the running is done by his running backs, then I agree that Hurd has the better shot.

Instead, a trip to the playoff would be highlighted by spectacular plays by Dobbs, both through the air and on the ground. The narrative will include stats of total TDs and combined yardage.

IMO it would probably come down to whether one of them had the lion's share of the TDs or not
