I am reposting part of this because i didn't really feel like retyping it. I am adding to it on the eve of our big showdown at high 11o'clock.
You do realize that most thought we would lose this game at the start of the season? Nothing really has changed in the variables. Our ol is not strong. Our defense has been a pleasant surprise. Fla still has a lot of athletes. Yes they lost bad to Bama, but we haven't played Bama yet either. This game is still an upset IMO. We have not beat fla for 9 yrs. I want us to win, I want CBJ to have a good win, I want our visiting recruits to see us win and enjoy their trip, but we are placing a lot of hope in a lot of 18 and 19 year old athletes. We are young and proud, but I will not allow myself to differ from my original opinion that we are at least a year away if not two from being the dominant team that tennessee once was. I think as fans, we are starving for the feelings we were blessed with in the late 80s and 90s and some early 2000s. The feeling that it didn't matter what team we played, we would win or at least make it close. We are on the right track, but I feel a lot of fans are being like annoying kids. Saying things like: are we there yet, are we there yet?
Let me just say this, I think we are close enough that we won't have to make another piss stop!
I just don't want anyone to go crazy after tomorrow's game and type things that you will be ashamed of or regret whether we win or lose. Let's be classy in our triumphant win, or be classy in a defeat that we originally presumed before the season started. After all, if Butch is instilling a dynasty type mentality in our players, let's at least have a dynasty mentality in our fan base and not get too high in our wins or too low in our losses. Go Vols!
