I am reposting part of this because i didn't really feel like retyping it. I am adding to it on the eve of our big showdown at high 11o'clock.
You do realize that most thought we would lose this game at the start of the season? Nothing really has changed in the variables. Our ol is not strong. Our defense has been a pleasant surprise. Fla still has a lot of athletes. Yes they lost bad to Bama, but we haven't played Bama yet either. This game is still an upset IMO. We have not beat fla for 9 yrs. I want us to win, I want CBJ to have a good win, I want our visiting recruits to see us win and enjoy their trip, but we are placing a lot of hope in a lot of 18 and 19 year old athletes. We are young and proud, but I will not allow myself to differ from my original opinion that we are at least a year away if not two from being the dominant team that tennessee once was. I think as fans, we are starving for the feelings we were blessed with in the late 80s and 90s and some early 2000s. The feeling that it didn't matter what team we played, we would win or at least make it close. We are on the right track, but I feel a lot of fans are being like annoying kids. Saying things like: are we there yet, are we there yet?
Let me just say this, I think we are close enough that we won't have to make another piss stop!
I just don't want anyone to go crazy after tomorrow's game and type things that you will be ashamed of or regret whether we win or lose. Let's be classy in our triumphant win, or be classy in a defeat that we originally presumed before the season started. After all, if Butch is instilling a dynasty type mentality in our players, let's at least have a dynasty mentality in our fan base and not get too high in our wins or too low in our losses. Go Vols!

I think we win 35 to 21. This team is ready to end this cursed losing streak to the bastards from Florida.

I am currently living in western NC and a Florida fan who lives here saw my hat the other day and we started talking about the game. He is scared to death that this is the year the streak dies. He told me that if they do lose bad to Tennessee that he fully expects Muschamp to be fired by the end of the season.

You got to remember that Florida only gets to play 11 games now and the one they don't get to play was one of the gimme wins that they always have on their schedule. If they lose to us, Georgia, South Carolina and Missouri that's already 5 losses since they lost to Bama. That's not counting the last game of their schedule against Florida State.

This game means so much to both teams really. We need it to generate a huge wave of momentum both in recruiting and for the rest of the season. They need it because they got their asses handed to them by Bama and no one in their fan base is happy about where the team is headed.

My 2 cents.

I still don't know where the barometer is for FLA. Is UK much improved or is FLA really struggling...or did they sleep walk in that game? Is Bama as good as usual or is FLA that much worse? Is UGAs defense that bad or is our O that much improved? I guess I will have some answers later this afternoon. I do know that I haven't seen this fight, determination and refuse to lose attitude on our team in a long time...and I love it! I'm prepping to leave for Knox in a couple hours. I will be STANDING in Y7 proudly wearing orange until the final horn sounds regardless of the results, because I know, win or lose today that over the next several years when we line up against anyone...well as someone once said on this board...we gonna whip dey ass. GBO!
