One of my employees totaled one recently.....and replaced it with a Mini Cooper. I am thinking of having him tested for narcotics.

Cayman?

Nice.

Porsche had the right idea going after a not-quite-as-high-end market that the 911's usually draw, when they came out with the Boxster. Unfortunately, the Boxter is a miserably performing, terrible-looking car.

Attempt #2 with the Cayman = success

Vehemently disagree on all counts.

The only knock is power in the base model but check the reviews and awards this car has won.

Check the wins in autocross all around the country.

The Cayman performs better but the Box is great.

I've gotten to drive (limitedly lol) and ride a long in a friend's dad's Boxster... He did most of the spirited driving.

I don't know if he's just a bad driver, but I was thoroughly unimpressed.

Until the Cayman came along, it was considered to be about the best handling car you could buy.

An S model has plenty of power but the car is more about handling and driver communication than anything. It is sublime. Not just my opinion - 9.5 out of every 10 professional reviews you read about this car say the same thing.

I've had one for about a year. I've had faster cars but none road feel anywhere near this car.

Honestly, I'd have to say the best-handling car I've ever been in is my friend's supercharged Miata with some suspension upgrades.

I swear, put a competent driver behind the wheel of that and it will waste any stock boxster anywhere.

C'mon, Bham.

Everybody knows you simply don't mess with a Porsche. And even though I clown on Boxsters a bit, same goes for them.

Back to the Cayman S - I drove one with active suspension. Wow! The thing is completely glued to the road and does whatever you want it do. Sweet.

Not a bad, choice, my friend. I've always lusted after a 911.

Looking forward to testing out the new M3. All I read sounds incredible.

I had an insane dream about the M3 as well!

Didn't you buy the 335 convert? That engine rocks.

As for Cayman vs 911 - I too have always lusted after the 911 but the Cayman right now fits the budget and bang for the buck better.

Also, more forgiving of driver mistakes at speed.
