Mueller Report Imminent

You don't have a choice to pay taxes and 70% tax rate, come on you might as well said 99% if you're going to exaggerate.
http://www.usdebtclock.org/

70% is not an exaggeration.

IIRC it would take raising rates up 20+% across all incomes to cover the current deficit. you include universal coverage and you are easily adding another 20% on top of that. that would put me close to 70%

Yes, that's true.

Lying to the public about his job (e.g., things he's done while in his capacity as President, aspects of pieces of legislation he champions, etc.) I would consider to be "important lies." Iraq WMD was an important lie. "If you like your doctor you can keep it" and how ACA was sold was an important lie. Lies about inaugural crowds (he isn't even in a position to cover that up) or how much money he's donated to charity are lies, and lying is wrong, but I don't really consider to be important. The vast, vast majority of stuff Trump has lied about is over stuff like that.

As @FLVOL_79 said, Trump is the epitome of a bullsh***er. They exaggerate and play fast and loose with facts but do it in a way where you know they are exaggerating and playing fast and loose with facts. He exaggerates, but he knows that you know he's exaggerating. Purposely vague with details and promises unclear and abstract but "great" things, and leaves you to fill in the blanks with your imagination.

Trump is a New York real estate developer who was a celebrity/reality TV star before entering politics. It isn't shocking he behaves this way. To become all indignant and uniquely outraged, as if people who have held this office in the past would have never even considered doing/saying some of the things Trump has, is just kind of silly.

I can agree with a lot of this. The lie about WMD's which led our country to fight a needless war is more serious than any lie any politician has ever told.... and yet, I also consider lying about how much you donate to charity a pretty sh***y thing to do.

Exactly.

I'm in the 3rd group.
C) People who view the office of POTUS as above being held by an horrendously despicable and amoral person who calls the press the enemy of the people and leads chants of "lock her up" about his political opponents. Those two things alone disqualify an individual from consideration in the minds of millions of Americans. Having a president who says those types of things with no consequence is far more dangerous to the continued greatness of this nation than any desire to see him removed. The acceptance of such conduct by our president is what is truly and ultimately un-American.
Serious question: Do you know anything about any President before Obama? Because if you think Trump is as bad as you described I think you skipped US History in high school. You did graduate high school right? Fun exercise: how many American citizens has Trump had killed? How many were women and children? Now look at the last teo democrat Presidents...

define "no consequence"? If you just mean legally speaking, yeah there should be no legal consequence.
if you mean to his elect-ability, it obviously did. you are right that there are/were many turned off by his statements.
if you mean to his long term good on the nation or legacy, its extremely doubtful. We have forgiven/forgotten a lot worse than "Lock her up" or whatever else Trump has said or tweeted. a lot worse. Most Americans would be terrified of playing the game "Who said "X"".

and what acceptance is that? even a lot of who you consider "red hatters" on this website can't stand Trump. and I would bet more would like him less for those same comments if the DNC didn't blow them out of proportion (worse than removing a fairly elected president).

That's a great point. A lot of the more hysterical talking points are made by people who speak like they just started following politics once Trump was elected, and that's probably because they did.

I don't think Luther did, but a lot of anti-Trump people probably did.

Then the argument is about late term abortions up to and including birth.

The controversy has centered on a provision concerning third-trimester abortions. Under current Virginia law, in order for a patient to terminate a pregnancy in the third trimester, three doctors must certify that continuing the pregnancy would likely cause the patient’s death or “substantially and irremediably impair” her mental or physical health. The new bill would reduce the number of doctors to one, and remove the “substantially and irremediably” qualifier — abortions would be allowed in cases where a mother’s mental or physical health is threatened, even if the damage might not be irreversible.

i think North's was speaking about special cases was my point, but he didn't clarify that. I'm the last person to ask if they support any kind of abortion law. I don't.
I read just last night that in 2015 they came up with definite proof that babies feel pain within 12 to 16 weeks of conception. That's the biggest time for neural growth of babies. They even proved that they feel it MORE intensely than adults because their buffering system for pain isn't developed yet. I'm relieved they can dispel the old narrative that abortions are painless to babies.

To all the Pubs on here celebrating: Just take a look back at all of Trump's Twitter attacks on Mueller over the last year and a half (literally thousands!). Now, you are rejoicing in his findings? Strange.

the shoe being on the opposite foot is worth bragging about?

You accuse someone of bias but then take great pride in his findings? It's fine to enjoy your moment... it's definitely a huge win for Trump. No getting around that fact.... but those Twitter attacks over the last year and a half?????

All 100% true... but shouldn't our standards evolve as times change? And shouldn't we hold our leaders to a high standard? Maybe I am idealistic... but whether we are talking about his Twitter feed or the Helsinki press conference last summer, I find Trump embarrassing. Is it as bad as lying about WMD's and leading us to war? No. It is what it is and democracy will have to run it's course. If Trump is re-elected next November? Then maybe what I hold important is wrong.... We will see.

How could you vote for any of them? They are either putting on a presidential act and doing nothing to actually help America. Trump is more in your face but seems to be making decisions that is making America stronger...... Peoples actions is way more important than the BS act they are putting on in front of a microphone.

Last two democrats had citizens murdered. Some women and children burned alive. Trumps jackassery comes no where near to being as reprehensible as the actions of the last 3 presidents.

I wouldn't come to that conclusion. Bush was re-elected after Iraq WMD. Obama was re-elected after "if you like your plan you can keep it." If the economy is doing OK, the incumbent tends to win. It really is the economy, stupid, as James Carville said. At a certain level, politics really isn't that complicated.

Presidents and politicians have lied, and they lie about big things. The single biggest thing anti-Trump folks seem to lack is perspective. It isn't that what many of them say is incorrect, per se. Some of it is incorrect, and some of it is taken out of context (likely on purpose), but a lot of it is correct. The thing is that much of it is absolutely hysterical and lacks perspective. Trump Derangement Syndrome makes Bush Derangement Syndrome look like nothing.
