MTV's "The Challenge" Thread

Biggest observation from part 1 of the reunion - Johnny is deathly afraid of the number of quality candidates from this past season. The number of times he just blurted things out during part 1 - just screamed "don't forget about me!"

I don't know when the reunion was filmed but CT still looked fat and sloppy. Sounds terrible as well. And MTV is doing him no favors by having him do the weird role play thing they did. Went from being feared to now being corny.

Speaking of corny, Turbo's bit at the end to get CT riled up was corny. I feel like CT didn't even care - and I don't blame him because what Turbo did was so corny its hard to take it serious - but that CT also realized he has a reputation to keep up so he started to get loud about it. I don't think CT actually wanted any Turbo smoke, to be honest. Not that I think CT is "afraid" of Turbo, per se. Just that he didn't want any smoke for whatever reason. When Derrick called out Turbo for bashing CT for "throwing the daily" but then didn't say anytihng about Michaela throwing her daily, CT immediately chimed in and said not to bring him up. Idk, felt weak. I miss the old CT. They kind of left it at a cliffhanger that things were about to go down, but in their previews for the next episode, show CT answering questions so obviously nothing happens.

Finding out Turbo was so controlling of Sydney and how Sydney abided by him was weird. Turbo is bizarre and I think has legit culture issues.

It's a Turbo issue and not a culture issue. Yes, gender roles are different in Tirkey. But normal Turks are capable of compromising with a woman in a platonic relationship for the sake of winning $ on a TV show. He's insecure to the bone. That explains 90% of it.

Overall, I liked the season. New people didn't play scared. Vets were playing the same old game and were shocked the new kids didn't biw down to them. Is this motivation for CT to come back hungry instead of for the money.....we'll see.....

Regarding the finale part 2:

Not surprised the CT vs Turbo shout fest was a nothing burger. CT definitely doesn't have that fire anymore - which I kind of get seeing how he's mid 40's now. If you're still a hot head in your 40s you got issues. Plus its just hard to take Turbo seriously. He's all for show. Like CT said, he didn't stand up until security came out. But I hate how my long time favorite CT was mentioning how they used to be such good friends and laugh etc. Felt like he was trying to strike an emotional chord with Turbo. Similar to how he tried to give turbo a hug in the house after their fight. I like in shape, full of piss and vinegar CT more than goofy, old, out of shape CT.

And again how its hard to take Turbo serious.... you seriously came to the reunion with props to **** talk? The letters for CT, the microphone for Theo? What a clown. Just feels like he's trying to hard.

Loved Ashley giving my 600lb life Annessa the business. If you can't take the challenge seriously enough to show up in shape, don't get pressed when people don't take your claims of "i can win!" serious.

Call me old but I wish MTV would give it a rest with the identity stuff. Or maybe it's not MTV but just younger people in general. We get that Derrick and Josh were gay. Why do they have to speak on thinking they had a bond being the "gays?" Why do they have to show a clip of Michaela threatening to punch Olivia in the face, then pan to her crocodile tearing about how she knows how "black women" are framed on TV and she doesn't want to appear that way. You literally said it.

She's also someone I don't care for. Don't get me wrong - she's good for the game and I hope she comes back a lot. So I don't dislike her like I dislike Josh Martinez or Fessy in hopes of never seeing them back. But she's easy to root against for me. But maybe I've just pissed she threw the challenge to get CT voted in.

Derrick... shave the head. You look ridiculous with whatever that is you have going on.

Cedric was good for the game but I stand by the fact that he looks 17.

As good as this rookie class was, there was a number of wall flowers this season and even at the finale last night that I doubt we'll ever see again.

Jake was one of them. Plus his hairline looks really odd.

I know Sydney rubbed a lot of people the wrong way but I hope she's a fixture. She's like a female Wes and I've always loved Wes. I'm a sucker for the uber competitive types who aren't afraid of anyone like Wes, Jordan, back in the day CT, etc.

On to 42....

Also, seen where MTV is shutting down? Does that mean the Challenge is going away?

I believe only in Europe MTV is gone but I do think this moves to paramount plus eventually.

CT reminds me more of myself than any other competitor which is probably why he is my favorite. I am actually a bit older than him and yeah you mellow in your 40s a lot but the animal is still there. It just takes a lot to rile it up. If Turbo had of moved towards him he would have switched. You could see his eyes change when he started to snap.

The rest of the new guys are great athletes but none of the charisma to carry the show. The have to find a bananas and CT and (I forget guy with missing fingers name suddenly) replacement or the show won’t last.
