MTV's "The Challenge" Thread

True, hall brawl or pole wrestle he would dominate I think. Just haven't really seen if he's good, bad or just decent at other challenges. His social game sucks.....lol

Another elimination that seemed catered to a specific person.

Not that im suggesting these are rigged because outside of a pole wrestle, it clearly takes a lot of time to construct these games and the participants are decided the same day I think.

But I don’t ever remember a season where so many eliminations seemed built for one player/team.

Nevertheless, I’m good with it. Jonna was awkward and Gabe was boring.

Olivia has lost her grip on the house it seems.

Turbo continues to be annoying.

Michaela has a lot of influence in the house strangely.

Hopefully Derek K retires. Dudes been a warrior - there’s no doubting that. But that was embarrassing.

That was also one of the dumbest elimination games I think I’ve ever seen.

Loved Theo trash talking at the end. I think I’ll root for him now but his partner is pretty bad.

Sydney and turbo are insufferable. Turbo is such a clown with his honor talk and calling people chicken pussies. He needs to be humbled. Same with Sydney - what has she won that she acts so untouchable?

Derrick hasn't been the same since his knee injury and you're right, he should retire but he'll keep taking the money as long as they wanna give it to him.

Stupid elimination! Guess they are running out of ideas.....🥴.

Will be interesting to see who stakes a claim. Can't see the teams sticking together much longer.

Listening to the bananas podcast with CT and he said he’s looking forward to season 42.

For the love of god dude. Train. Come back in shape or don’t come back at all.

He and bananas did say they were going to work together next season. That would be interesting.

Okay at the end of the pod he says that he’s gonna take better care of his body and come in ready next time. Okay, I’m back on board

Fit CT is damn near u stoppable even at this age.

Dad bod CT is toast.

That elimination was weird. Seems like a common sense strategy from the jump was you pick a puzzle and your partner pick one and you just work on it as your thing spins to it. I knew right when they announced the rules that they would just take turns messing it up as it went around.

And it feels like mtv just made up the rule to stop it for a minute when they realized how dumb the game kind of was.

Theo needs to stake a claim. I’m not sure what his partner does well.

Sydney gives female Fessy vibes. Legit thinks she’s this beast when I’m not sure she has even accomplished anything. But they do have the best combined team.

Not surprised Leroy is out. Surprised he’s lasted this long. I think I said it earlier in this thread but the guy might be the most underperforming male in history. I mean, for someone who showed up every season in shape, always had great alliances, never had notable rivals or people gunning for him…. And he’s done nothing of note in this game.

Will is someone who I thought started strong and would be a fixture but now I’m thinking he’s too bland and boring and i don’t know if they invite him back.

Jake seems cool. Cedric gets a lot of airtime. He seems like he’s 15 and him wearing oversized hats in every scene doesn’t help.

Much like win/lose, last season belonged to Bananas, this is Theo's season. He's been so entertaining. I've loved him since his first season, but cooled on him because of Olivia (and the fact that he hasn't been a big player). The circumstances of this house have me rooting so hard for him.

He maybe made a mistake by springing that strategy on Nany with no warning because her reaction was to resist the manipulation, but he was 100% right, and there is nothing wrong with what he did. Half the house was calling him a POS when he's a genius who gave her a chance to save her #1. That was karma on that coin flip putting Turbo in.

I thought nanys victim reaction was uncalled for especially when she’s a vet. I mean I get her being upset but to not understand WHY Theo did it was short sighted.

Hated how the elimination ended. I had a bad feeling about it when Ashley said she figured it out while still going up. Figured there was no way mtv would spoil it if that was true.

More insufferable turbo unfortunately.

It was a stupid way to resolve the tie! A coin flip?? How bout something they have to earn to stay out of elimination? Even arm wrestle, best two out of three. Something other than random luck! Better yet, revote but can't vote for Theo or Turbo!

I see nothing wrong with what Theo did. Just game strategy. Emotional Nany came out again for nothing. Turbo was fine with it so quit whining!

Ashley locked in to her solution and never budged and it's hard to argue with her when she gets that way. Would have liked to see her go against Sydney in something physical....would have shocked Sydney back to reality that she's not all she thinks she is.....

The beauty of the coin flip is that it factors into how you vote/strategy. I actually prefer seeing game strategy in action over watching competitions. I'm honestly looking at my phone a lot during competitions (the editing bugs me and makes me lose interest).

Theo used the coin flip against Nany and Turbo, and even though it didn't work, it was by far the most compelling part of the episode.

Also, Sydney repetitively making fun of Theo for having one eye is just....

Let's hope they never put Nelson on a season with her.

I didn't watch this episode but instead streamed it while driving and listened to it on bluetooth, so I don't have too much to say about the actual competition having not watched any of it. But props to MTV to at least doing a good job of making the elimination be suspenseful. Might not have been that way actually watching it, but listening to it it legit sounded like Theo and his partner was going home. I'm glad they didn't - I was literally listening and thinking if this was their last episode, I might not even watch anymore this season. There isn't a second team or player Im even remotely interested, beyond hoping Turbo goes home.

Sucks for Annessa - all the talk about her being in the best shape of her life for nothing. I sincerely hope she stops coming on. Her showing up overweight and then acting like a victim sob story when no one wants her on her team is beyond old. I doubt Jake gets invited back either. He was kind of like wallpaper there. A Will with an accent. Will is equally boring, mind you.

We're running low on teams so I guess the politics etc are about to start getting interesting. Or they would if it didn't seem like Theo was going to be the obvious vote to go in every week. I'm hoping he wins a daily soon just so we can enjoy how drama as alliances have to start voting for one another.

Decent episode. I hate that Turbo and Sydney won the daily. It would've been so interesting to see how the votes and all fell if they were available to the taking.

Nany is a mess. How she tried to make herself out to be the victim there was ridiculous - and being angry and hateful to Aviv. It was clearly her mistake - she told them she was voting them in, so they did what they had to do. Aviv didn't get pissed when Nany told her she was voting her in, so why is Nany having such a visceral reaction when Aviv and her partner do what they think they need to do to protect themselves.

I also understood Wills reaction. Didn't think Nany had a reason to lash out at him either. The whole thing was so bizarre. Nany has been playing the game for what... 15 years... and she is still a basket case emotionally. Previews for next week show her lashing out even more - which leads me to believe shes on the chopping block.

You have to figure next week is the last episode before the final. Only 5 teams left and I'm assuming they bring 4 teams to the final, for a 1st, 2nd, 3rd place finisher followed by a last place SOL team.

Michaella and Cedric winning the elimination should make for an interesting next week. Theyve got balls enough to vote in Sydney and Turbo or another strong team. Cedric made me laugh when he said he was disappointed it wasn't a headbanger because he wanted to show he's got that dog in him. Respectfully, he looks like a 15 year old. Will would have destroyed him at anything physical.

Speaking of physical - anyone else surprised we haven't seen a hall brawl this season? Is that whats coming up? Or are those now gone from the challenge. I have a theory that now that the old heads are so old, they're softening up the eliminations. Some have been physical, but I wonder if MTV wants to avoid anything too rough like a hall brawl because the liability of sending a mid 40 year old against someone 20 years younger seems too high.

After decades of watching this I have come to the conclusion the writers pick specific games knowing it will cause specific team to win and mainly in an elimination.

Nany nany nany..... my lord. She again amazed with how unhinged she is at the social game.

Cedric again talking about wanting to show he's got that dawg in him. Idk, I can't take that serious considering he looks 15. And its easy to say that when you're going against a twink.

The Daily seemed really difficult. Unfortunately with Sydney and Turbo winning, all the drama was out of the deliberation.

The elimination itself was underwhelming, which stinks because Balls In is probably one of the top 2 or 3 eliminations.

Definitely feels like Turbo and Sydney are virtual locks to win it all. I'd say Olivia and the tarzan guy are contenders. Personally I'll be rooting for Theo but - and this is me being judgemental - his partner looks a little big for final. Not sure she's not going to get gassed early. No clue what to think of Cedric or Michaela.

Ultimately I think I'm rooting for anyone but S&T. Turbo is insufferable anyways. I do appreciate Sydney though and hope shes a regular..
