'24 MS DL Kamarion Franklin (Ole Miss commit)

A few years back I was offered two positions at the same time. One was in an urban/suburban area requiring us to relocate to a different region of the country. The other was a move of about 60 miles to a town of 25K. The first job offered roughly 25% more. It more than covered the difference in cost of living. Both were good offers. I chose the 2nd because it offered a lifestyle that I favored.

If Franklin is being offered a "good" NIL by both schools and it comes down to just the money... then that's a pretty good reason to let him go. It isn't likely a case of UT insulting him and Miami offering a lot more or else UT would already be out.

“Roughly 25%” more isn’t life changing money so idk why kind of parallel you were trying to make.

Poster clearly stated “life changing money.”

UT has made an offer. That offer appears to be close enough to Miami's offer that Franklin is still considering UT. IOWs, if Miami's offer seems "life changing" to him then UT's isn't much off that mark. The "parallel" is that it is possible to get two very good offers and reason out that the one with a little less money is best for you. If a guy ignores the rest then they're setting themselves up for bad things.

Yeah. And just because you apparently did not understand the parallel... doesn't mean I didn't understand that post.

Poster: hey guys we’d all probably choose life changing money!

Sjt18: Ackshually I don’t know about that. Let me tell you about this one time I was offered a non life changing 25% raise and turned it down!

Who urinated in your cheerios? Also, why do you allow them to urinate in your cheerios every single day?

I think sjt meant to imply that both offers are likely "life-changing" money if that is what Franklin is considering. If Tennessee offered $750k and Miami offered $1mil, then both are life-changing, at least short-term, but the Miami offer isn't perhaps so much more life-changing that it should ultimately and easily determine his choice. Other factors should be considered that could affect his future earnings.

Uga I think. He’s been like this for a few months I’ve noticed. Some good commits should hold us all over til football season starts.

Man, money really does make people do stupid things. Going to play in a three quarter empty stadium for a team that needed 4 over times to beat a 3 win Virginia team last year. I mean good lord, they weren't even competitive in their losses last year. They were outscored 216 to 83 in those seven losses.

This has been discussed. They had insane elite QBs both times and played in a ridiculously easy conference. Basically had 12 practice games to get ready for the playoffs. Plus dabo obviously has god on his side.

If anything, Clemson is an anomaly.
Heup has been pretty good getting QBs, not worried about that angle.

and I am not going to argue that depth is more important in the SEC than the ACC, but all that means is it may take us a year more, or a little more magic than Clemson had. I am thinking/hoping that our offense will be capable of popping that magic off, once we get the rest of the team in place.

people often overlook the actual differences in these classes. being in the Top 12ish is a LOT better than being Top 15/20 like we have been. Our class last year, #10, was 22pts, better than South Carolina #16. But 22 pts better than us would have been #4. There is a pretty steep drop off in the low teens between the classes above and below. You stay in the top half you are giving yourself a great chance to be in the playoffs. because there was really only 1 or 2 players worth of difference between our Top 10 and a #5 finish. so its not like we need to improve recruiting by leaps and bounds.

putting together consecutive good seasons will go a LONG way to closing that gap between our #10 and that Top5 recruiting finish we want.

I totally agree with you, however, your example doesn't necessarily support what you are trying to convey. Your example describes a linear curve seeing as how the 22 pts are equal to 6 spots regardless of being above or below #10.

That's really all you have? Double down on your profound ignorance?
