Fallen
Seven
There really arent very many of these. I would not count movies where the protagonist is technically the bad guy and wins (e.g., Oceans 11). What others are there that Im forgetting about?
How?
And that's been a trend in sports movies over the last decade or so (Friday Night Lights, Coach Carter, a few others)
I'm not entirely sure what you're asking. I'm simply saying that I would exclude movies where the protagonist wins at the end, even if the protagonist happens to be the bad guy (such as Ocean's 11, where Ocean is a thief robbing casinos - he is still the protagonist of the film, not the antagonist). I'm trying to identify movies where the actual antagonist of the film wins.
Original Rocky might work. Silence of the Lambs is sorta dodgy with your protagonist criteria. The two that immediately leaped to my mind were No Country for Old Men and The Usual Suspects.
Lots of horror movies probably fit in here somewhere if you make it where the ending suggests (or even outright shows) the bad guy/things/creatures weren't really defeated.
Well, Apollo did win, that's true. What did Apollo say later? "I won the fight, but you beat me." Good one.
