most overrated vols

everybody on here talking about how bray was gonna dominate.

Mr. Fester, just in case you haven't been paying attention, Bray was our offense. I believe you will find that until he was injured, he lead the SEC in Passing Yardage and games with 2 or more Passing Touchdowns. Of course, some people never pay attention to facts or reality.
Think what he could have done if we actually had a running game when he was in there.

If either of these guys were getting Heisman talk (like the Syrup Squirrel in some circles) I suppose I could see this point of view. And actually your observation that overrated can still be applied to a good player is quite valid. I guess I just don't remember there being any more hype than they probably deserved.*

*One caveat, especially with Simon. (though Burnett had injury problems too, including going OFTS in game one of '02) Fans LOVE the "If only so and so were out there." angle. Some people on here right now could look at you all glazed-eyed and try to convince you that if Hunter, Bray & Poole had been healthy all year we'd be undefeated. Now, the argument isn't even the veracity of these claims but that absentee (or even "playing while injured") players are often bestowed nigh magical powers that would have "made the difference" if they'd been healthy. Not everyone gets caught up in this mindset but some do. Perhaps you recall some chatter of that nature with Simon & Burnett that's leaving you with the "overrated" impression?
Quoting for emphasis, even though I was mistaken awhile back.

i remember him well, dont agree with a lot of the names on here but michael consistantly got beat

Dude your clueless. Fact check me here but Munoz only gave up 7 sacks his
entire career and 0 his SR year. Guy
would still be starting on Sundays if it
wasn't for his knees.

Munoz = STUD
Clausen = a good QB, will take more like him anytime
Overstreet = STUD
Riggs: played well his SR yr

Some of you have unreal expectations or bad memories.

SIAP What about Teddy "Big Play" Gaines. Guy got beat constantly.

I also want to note that I appreciate what every single former player did here, regardless of their accomplishments. They wore the Orange and that means a lot.

I don't think Bray is overrated, but he led the SEC with stats built against Montana, Cincinnati, and Buffalo--not against SEC teams....

bryce brown,most hype ever.

I remember everyone saying CLK told him he was the next Reggie Bush. I know he played a lot as a freshman but I did not see greatness in him, at all. Now, what little I saw of him that one night with the Eagles, he did well.

Between he and Houston, I don’t know who ran to get tackled more! If there ever was an over hyped player by Fulmer, it would be between he and Munoz!

James Banks - Lamarcus Coker and Lennon Creer all were a waste of talent
I agree with the waste of talent part. Creer did spend three seasons in the league:

Lennon Creer

i always thought leonard little was overrated in college and was amazed he played in the nfl as long as he did.

i would vote raynoch thompson for most underrated.

Here's the setup...

see, i don't remember him being a "beast". i thought he was good, but not a "beast".

maybe, it's because i'm thinking too much about the games with florida.

Here's the the knife twist. Trolling is an art, really.

Dustin wasn't overrated he just got kicked off. The talent was definitely there

True statement. Dustin was being talked of going high in the NFL draft if he could've gotten his head on straight. He came in as a RB and was switched to TE. Played for Greeneville Tn in HS

Kahlil Mckenzie gets my vote.

Cedrick Houston.

Leonard Scott

And the tall DE/DT a few years back. Looked like Tarzan played like Jane. His name escapes me. Had one play vs Bama i think, an INT return.
