Most memorable UT game you have ever been too?

This is a tough one to answer... I mean the first game I went to was Peyton Manning's first start vs. Washington St. we won 10 - 9 on a Nilo Silvan reverse... then there was the 98 Florida & Arkansas games, the 2004 Florida game, & this year's Florida game, coming back from being down 21 - 3 in the first half, Neyland was rockin' in the 2nd half.... hard to pick a most memorable... good times were had at all!! Go Vols!

it's hard to make people understand just how hard it was raining that day. Those that were not present have no idea.

I was in the upper deck. It rained so hard the pelleting rain stung your face. Pulled my shirt from the bottom up, up over my head and made a sloped roof in front of my face so, I could see the field. Some foreign student had snuck an umbrella in his bag and he let my wife stand under it with him. Nice gesture.

'85 Auburn
'90 UF
Both rainy and ugly days except on the field.

Having been at both games, my recollection of the '85 Auburn contest was nothing but blue skies and a beautiful sunshiney day for an epic win over Bo Jackson and the Tigers. the Florida game was in a downpour...

With the offseason here I figured I would ask YOU "Volnation" what's the most memorable UT game you have ever been too?

I'm torn. I was at the 04' UFvsUT game when we beat Florida and went on to win the SEC East...the largest game ever in UT history 109,061...Neyland was ROCKING!!!!

However, when I was 12 years old my dad got both him and I tickets to the 97' Citrus Bowl between UTvsNW...I got them on Christmas morning...such a special memory.

As I grow older I look back on my life and realize I was so blessed to see Peyton Manning play. Also, at that time it was Peyton's junior year and there was the wide speculation that he may leave for the NFL. So as a kid at that time I didn't fully understand what that game really meant.

So while the 04'' UFvsUT game was an amazing experience...it is probably still #2 on my list. Just because I have so many great memories from the 97' Citrus Bowl with my dad.

For those of you who don't remember...this is the game I'm talking about.

IMO this is the most memorable sporting event I have even been too.

What yours?

1959 LSU
1982 Alabama
1985 Auburn
1998 Florida
1998 Arkansas

2001 Florida game in the swamp, watching Travis Henry run all over the place. Spuriers last game. Minutes before the game was over a Florida fan turned and pointed at me and said "you better hope you don't win". Of course he was joking, but never know in Gainesville.

Leaving the game all the Florida fans were super quiet. Tennessee fan yelled out "Why you guys so quiet?"

I also got to watch Tony Robinson play. Believe we beat UCLA like 26-10 back in 85. He was just fun to watch.

Our defense that day and all season was relentless.

True, a great great defense. I went back and looked at the rosters of both teams in that Sugar Bowl game, and it was like 22 guys that got drafted. Great NFL players and one future great broadcaster in our own Charles Davis.

1998 Florida (Neyland)

1995 Alabama (Legion Field)
1990 Florida (Neyland)
1985 Auburn (Neyland)
1997 Auburn (SEC Championship)

In that order. Spaces are there because the 98 UF game is that far ahead of the others.

You must have left halfway thru the 4th quarter of that 85 UCLA game. Johnny went into his "run out the clock" mode and UCLA came back to tie that one at 26.

UT v FLA '04. It was my first game ever of American football... had just landed in the US a month before that as an international student.

'82 Bama. I moved to Texas the next year and only make a handful of games, none anywhere near the magnitude of that game.

Mine as well. That was my first UT game ever and I left that night thinking we'd never lose another game. I still go into every season feeling the same way.
I am surprised that the 98 Arky game is not getting very many votes. I knew a fellow alum here in Texas that went to that game and HE LEFT EARLY! Was crossing Stadium Drive and then he heard the roar from the stadium!

Most memorable........I would say that would have to be 2015 UGA game in Neyland, the 2016 Florida game and the 2016 UGA game down in Athens. Most of all my friends, unfortunately, are UGA grads. Each year i have to endure them going on and on about how good "we" are and how bad "we" are going to beat Tennessee this year. So the time came last year when we all went down to the classic city for the UGA/TENN game. My Fiance's dad always gets us tickets for this game in Athens, and more times than enough, the tickets are always on the visitors side (Tennessee's). Lets not forget to mention that her family are big time Georgia fans as well. So the whole morning we tailgate with my Georgia friends, I am catching heckles and homophobic comments from bulldog strangers as they pass by, because i am the only one wearing orange at the tailgate of course.

We all know what happens next right? Juan Jennings pulls down a hail mary pretty much right in front of the student section where we were sitting. Those seats were better seats than section R row 12 in Neyland on that day. Not only was the win a supernatural feeling there in the classic city, but watching how butt hurt all those Georgia fans was just as good. The "we" this and "we" that bulldog fans had scurried home and were disbelief of how ole Lyle Jones could have pulled that one off.

Best and only game l have ever been to was the 5 OT win over Bama in Tuscaloosa back in 2003, l think- still have my ticket in my stash of TN stuff! I was so proud to be the only one wearing orange that day in my section.

I thought it was over and I started walking to go out and people were just mesmerized in the back and forth struggle and stopped where they were.

As a first game, don't think l could ever top that!

That's the only time I've been to a Bama game that we won. It was a great game!

Last year is the only time I've been at a Florida win. It was a great win!

You probably can't say this with your fiancé around but here's the perfect comeback to the comments that you received from UGA fans:

"She doesn't date Bulldogs since they always come up a little bit short" or "She doesn't date Bulldogs since she knows she will ultimately be disappointed at the end"
