Last season was my first time visiting Neyland Stadium.. and I hope to visit this year. My first game was the Alabama Vs. TN game. The atmosphere was incredible ( despite the loss),

Tennessee is indeed a very special place to be. After being there in person... I would agree that it does cement a persons ability to follow this amazing team.. the campus, the stadium, the electricity that flows through the air... just simply breath taking.

UCLA game in Memphis in 65. I was in the 7th grade and a friend invited me to go with him and his Dad. It was my fist game in person and I thought every game after that was going to be as exciting. It was so meaningful to me because my Dad and I listened to every game since I could remember but we didn't have the money to attend games.

91 Notre Dame. Ran onto field, dug up grass and then went back to Chicago to watch Jordan and Bulls beat the Magic.

A close second was kentucky in 14. It was my family's first game together. My son loved it. We dismantled kensucky. Hell even croom got a TD that day.

1984, Reggie White sacked the LSU qb in the forth qtr to seal a Tennessee victory! It was awesome!!! Anyone remember that game?

In terms of memorable, I'd have to go with the battle st Bristol. It's just something that will never be replicated and the pregame was amazing in person.

Best game? My first 2004 Fla.

One of my favorite games I never saw. My parents always talked about that game.

:thud:The 1982 upset of Alabama in Knoxville! I can still remember Bear Bryant leaning against the goal post in the North end zone. Probably the biggest crowd in Knoxville history with the World's Fair crowd and the Alabama game. I believe it was his last game ever against the Vols.

Tie between 82 Alabama game and 85 Auburn game.

1977 Notre Dame beat down 40-17 with Hubert Simpson.
1980 Georgia Herschel coming out game. We were robbed.
1980 USC game and Alatorre's interception for their last second field goal for a USC win that should have been Fuad's.
1982 Bama game. Mike Terry's interception in the end zone to seal it.

I was at that 1980 Georgia game when Herschel ran over Bates. While Fournette's run over the A&M defender recently was aesthetically similar in almost every aspect, Herschel's running over Bates was monumental mostly because no one really knew who he was - yet. It was historic and incredible to witness, even though we were on the short end.

My favorite in-person game was the Notre Dame game that you mentioned which happened in 1979 while I was in school. We won 40-18 and Hubert Simpson was unstoppable that day. The most memorable impression to me though were the kickoffs where the ND returner would catch the ball in the corner just getting his feet in bounds before stepping out - as if receiving a pass. Happened more than once.

Best and only game l have ever been to was the 5 OT win over Bama in Tuscaloosa back in 2003, l think- still have my ticket in my stash of TN stuff! I was so proud to be the only one wearing orange that day in my section.

I thought it was over and I started walking to go out and people were just mesmerized in the back and forth struggle and stopped where they were.

As a first game, don't think l could ever top that!

'98 Florida win...and it isn't even close.

Agreed...Tee gave me a big hug as I celebrated amongst Tennessee's finest. Grabbed some turf on the way out that I cultivated in my yard. Neighbors ask and I still explain "rocky top" fescue...98 blend. Can't get it at Lowe's. Deon Grant's interception emblazoned upon my dog pound walls. John Ward for the recollect. Chills up and down my my spine!
