Most Hated Opposing Coaches

Well when you go from 12-22 over 3 years you have no where to go but up. That is not the seam kind of coaching change - that was necessity (sp?). The Donnan/Richt exchange was a different animal - he was let go b/c he couldn't beat the perrenial contenders in the SEC - one win doesn't make him Master of UT - he was 1 for 5 against us and UF. Richt has raised the bar a bit and has only one loss to us - he hasn't figured out UF yet but I think his time will come. They have won 2 SEC titels since he took over so saying comparing him to donnan is a little off.
Watson and McMichael were there in '01 but that was their last season so they did play for Donnan for a majority of their collegiate career.
It wasn't Watson's last year. His last year at UGA was '03.

So do you think that Richt was a lateral move for UGA?
No. The fan base had lost confidence in Donnan. When that happens, it's best to make a change. My point is that the evidence doesn't show that Jim Donnan was "over his head" in the SEC. Ray Goff, Brad Scott, and Sparky Woods were "over their heads." Donnan wasn't.

I never said that he was over his head...I merely stated that he had a lot of talent that produced mediocre results.

Earlier posters did. That was why I launched into what has become a lengthy defense of Donnan.

Got it! I was beginning to wonder why you would defend him so vigorously.
Well, he was an assistant to Barry Switzer. That gains one big points in my book.

I don't like Spurrier because he ran my Redskins into the ground... :bad:

I remember when they hired him I was so conflicted. The great satan coaching my pro team. But I was hoping he could bring them back. :disappointed:

I'm glad he fell on his face and Gibbs  came back

1. Fulmer(too much KFC)
2. Meyer(Thinks he already the class of the SEC)
3. Tommy Bowden(knows nothing about anything)
4. Bobby Bowden(just retire already)
5. Nick Saban(overrated liar)

I'd hate those guys too. They probably have a combined winning percentage of about .950 against South Carolina.

Come on Hat . . . He could have chosen any 5 coaches and that would be true.

It is kind of funny that a Gamecock fan would choose to deride someone with a comment about fried chicken.

Making fun of a guy is one thing, but disliking him for his appearance? Sounds like a racist to me.

If all the threads in this forum were pruned of redundncy there would be about 1/4 of the content.

1. Spurrier- always scares me when we are up against him.
2. Saban- bama coach, don't like the guy.
3. Tressel- lead OSU to too much success for me to like him.
4. Miles- overrated
5. Meyer- we haven't beaten him
