Most Hated Opposing Coaches

your cleverness never ceases to amaze me, nor does the fact that you actually call yourself a UT fan.

Just because you disagree with the selection of your favorite team's head coaches doesn't mean you have to hate your favorite team. It's possible that your love for the team forces you to hate what is hurting your team the most, a coach who's complacency has been severely detrimental to the team's productivity.

saying Fulmer is more hated than Meyer, Spurrier, or any Alabama coach does put into question 1 or 2 things: 1) you enjoy a cheap laugh or, 2) your vol fandom

The reason is because then their vol fandom rests largely on when UT is winning. Their love is not on the team, but on winning. Sure, it's great to win, but come on. You would think the same thing if you heard an FSU fan say that his most hated opposing coach was Bobby Bowden simply because Bowden got complacent and was unwilling to retire and it became detrimental to his team's productivity, it may be true, but I would certainly question that person's fandom given everything Bowden did for the university (and likewise with Fulmer)...

Bowden saw his team through 3 and a half decades. If Bowden's flame blew out in Fulmer's timetable, he'd have deserved getting fired in 1992. At that point, he was a year away from his first of 2 National titles.
Bowden had 1 losing season in 34 seasons, and that was his first year (5-6). The 2 years prior, they were a combined 4-18.

Putting Bowden and Fulmer on the same playing field is just mean to Phil.
At least 1/3 of Phil's tenure should have been removed. Bowden owes FSU about 5 years back (out of his 34).

Bowden also built FSU up from nothing.

Fulmer took over a talented roster and won with it.
