Most Hated Opposing Coaches

Spurrier is one of my favorite coaches ever. I'll just go ahead and say it. I understand people being frustrated with him and Florida during the 90's, but they really need to be upset with having a mediocre coach roaming our own sidelines.

I sincerly question your loyalty to Tennessee. Yes, you have a right to your opinion and yes its ok to criticize as a fan but the constant lovefest of Kiffin and Spurrier and everything that is to be loathed as a Tennessee fan just reeks in almost all of your posts. If it smells, walks and quacks like a duck, guess what.... its a duck.

I sincerely question your intellect.

Nick Saban (liar, liar--pants on fire!)
Stevie Spurdog (Now just an amusing has-been but I got tired of seeing our boys wood-shedded annually when he was coaching in Gainesville.)
Jim Sweatervest Tressel (Ohio State winning the Big Ten is akin to Memphis winning C-USA in hoops)
Rich Rod (Pat White and Steve Slaton made this guy's career)
Urbie (I dearly want to see our Big Orange wipe the smirk from his puss.

Spurrier because even when he beat you he had to be a smug a-hole about it, giving Kiff partial basis for his pantomime routine. Meyer gets honorable mention for running up the score like the Patriots against underclassed foe. I liked how that came back around on him last year when they could barely eek any O in most games and then got dropped by Bama in humiliating fashion.

Keeping mine in the SEC.

1. Steve Spurrier because he just had to rub it in every year that we were second fiddle.
2. Gerry DiNardo. I despised his "university to the east" bullcrap, and enjoyed every minute of those beatdowns we laid on them.
3. Urban Meyer. The guy is a whiney ass crybaby.
4. Danny Ford. I turned on him after the 93 UT/Arky game when the sideline camera caught him saying that he wanted Heath Shuler to tear up his knee. Totally classless.
5. Bear Bryant. OK, I really didn't hate him. I just couldn't stand losing to him all the time.

It's very possible to love the Vols and not hate Kiffin. That's not a requirement.
People who hate him for leaving/blaming the depth issues on him are just redirecting their anger toward him in a way to absolve Fulmer.

Spurier sucks, but, Urban Myer has to be #1 now. Saban is really smart, but, Fulmer beat him with LSU. We have not beaten FLA under Myer. Everytime the guy loses he has to be put on suicide watch. That being said, I hope we catch him this year with a young QB. They will be coming off a game with S. Florida, and I hope they are overconfident. I really think that the 2nd game against Oregon is key this year. If we beat them, there will be a completely positive vibe in Knoxville. When the Vol fans get loud, it makes a difference!

Keeping mine as current college coaches.

5. Bobby Petrino- I know this guy hasn't really done anything to Tennessee yet, but there is just something about him that screams sleaze to me.

4. Rick Neuheisel - Slick Rick is a douche in every sence of the word. It doesn't help that his ONLY 2 signature wins in his career at UCLA so far have come against UT. Seeing him celebrate on Shield Watkins field last year like he won the lottery made me sick.

3. Steve Spurrier - There is just too much history here. I will be honest when I look at him now he is like that old man that you grew up down the street from that was always rude and hateful everytime you went by his house or your ball went in his yard, but now is old and sick and you almost feel sorry for him. But with him growing up and playing at my rival HS, playing at my Rival college and now coaching two hated SEC rivals...he is still up there.

2. Nick Saban - There is a tiny little bit of me that respects him for his success, but then I rememeber that he has single handedly been the biggest part of our programs demise the last 10 years. From the moment he beat us in 01 SEC championship game it was hate from then on.

1. Urban Meyer - This is a blowout. I absolutley want to vomit all over myself, everyone around me, and the entire room that I am in everytime I see this b*tch on TV. He is a smug unhappy little man and he treats people as if they are imbicels (Tommy Boy reference.) It doesn't help that we haven't EVER been able to see him walk out of a game with Tennessee as a loser. I pray to GOD that it happens this year...however unlikely that may be.

DOWN WITH URBAN MEYER!

In the 1990's? Spurrier - hands down, Public Enemy #1.

Urban is now on the hated list as well as Saban.

I actually respect Saban...he's the best coach in CF right now. But he's a Bammer now so I am obligated to hate him at the same time.

Well Bear Bryant had to be the most hated for me....But in a good way...Many of you were too young to remember Bryant but I remember him very well and saw many games between his tide and my beloved VOLS....It just burned holes in my soul at times wanting to beat him so badly....As one former VOL who was a good friend of mine in the early 80's said, "It is hard to watch tape of alabama from the previous week because that's not what they are going to do against us"....Bryant never bad mouthed us, He always took blame for his failures and alway's had deep respect for Tennessee and the rivalry....But he always pulled out all the stop against us, He would do things We never expected like fake punts and optioning the ball off after a long catch...It was insane to see what he would try and you KNEW he was going to try something We hadn't seen before....He was an genius and I mean that with all due respect...But the win over him in 82, the very last time he would coach against UT had to be the greatest win I have experienced in my lifetime...It is the one that sticks out a bit more than others... Saban is #2 on the list and Meyer is #3...Kiffin is an easy 4 and Jim Donnan is #5 just because He was the biggest crybaby of the bunch.

1. Frank Beamer - does all his recruiting at the Hampton/Newport News/Norfolk city jails..."oh, so you'll make parole before the season opener, if you are you got a scholarship"

2. Urban Meyer - he just seems whiney and throws little tantrums when he doesnt get his way. No class at all - when he used a timeout to run up the score I lost all respect for that man; yeah its fun to do on xbox but in the real world class matters.

3. Mack Brown - just comes off as a jerk to me. likes to whine after games if any call goes against them or if one of his pre-madonna players doesnt perform. Almost put him at #1 but really couldnt come up with reasons i hate him so much other than my hatred of TexU and Browns personality.

4. Lane Kiffin - no explanation necessary, slimeball from top to bottom, terrible person, no class, no wins to back up his mouth...would pay money for a front row seat to watch him get hit by a bus then mauled by a panther

5. Joe Paterno - I guess you couldnt say I hate him, but I do strongly dislike him. Im not a PSU fan at all, but you hate to see someone hurt their program because they wont leave and theyre too big a name in the program to fire. PSU could be alot better with a younger, more energetic coach bringing in better recruits. Plus there are times in interviews you wonder if he even realizes where he is right now.

2. Gerry DiNardo. I despised his "university to the east" bullcrap, and enjoyed every minute of those beatdowns we laid on them.

Having been a student at Vandy during part of his tenure, and with several pretty close connections to the Dores football team during that time, I can tell you that no matter how bad your perception of Dinardo might be, the reality is worse.

I don't doubt that for a minute. The guy was a first rate prick.

in 19 pages nobody has mentioned LEE CORSO, also Bobby Bowden and his whinning about all the vacated wins...note to bobby; dont recruit thugs and cheaters and you will not get your wins taken away
