Most hated conference.

Ohio State! and the big 10.

I dont get all the hate for OSU from UT fans. I know I am biased cause I got a degree from OSU as well as UT, but I also live here in the heart of Buckeye country.....the fans bases are EXACTLY the same. Absolutely crazy about their teams with ever rising expectations. I know the B10 isnt exactly a stacked conference, but to discount the success and consistency of Tressel's OSU teams, IMHO, is ignorant as a college football fan. I know they fell on their faces in the NC games, but they played great against a Texas team that should have been in the title game last year. I love UT with all my heart, and am just a passing OSU fan......but I sure wouldnt mind trading records and accomplishments with them this past decade.

I hate the ACC and most of all Virginia Tech, they think that winnig that conference means something and that they are on equal grounds with other top programs like USC, Oklahoma, UT, FL, Michigan, and Texas without ever having won a national title and having a stadium possibly the same size as some big time high schools. That schools football program is a joke and Beamer cant win without a qb that scrambles every down to make up for his ineptitude as a coach. I hear alot of big talk from trashy VT fans here for a program thats only been on the football radar at all but for maybe 15 years.

as a va native. i totally relate to you there

I dislike the big ten...the big east...and ND... what I really don't understand is how ND can be independent in football, but be in the big east in bball... And I have a huge dislike for northern football, something about it just eeks me

Im with you 100% on this. OSU= most overated school ever

Ya, we (USC) even beat Ohio state back to back years in 2000 and 2001 and we aren't even high up on the sec food chain. They are one sad excuse for a football team, at least they actually came within 50 points of beating a decent football team when they lost to texas

Notre Dame was still cool when Ty Willingham was there, I think everybody hates Weiss and not the school.

I hate that conference with Florida, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina & Kentucky.

"Hate" is too strong for me. But if I view the question as being "Which conference do I most enjoy watching lose?", it's the Big 10 hands-down. Reason goes back to the 1960s and earlier. Back then, most CFB sportswriters were based in the midwest or west coast. Big 10 was their home territory. No OOC games since the best competition was obviously internal to the Big 10. Each year they crowned a Big 10 champion and waited for the media to annoint their conference champion the national champion.

OK... perhaps I'm overstating a bit in the above paragraph.. but it sure seemed that way at the time. And yeah, I carry a grudge a long time... :p

I hope for your sake you are being extremely sarcastic here. They have won a NC this decade, always play in BCS games, and win 9-10 games every year. If that is a "sad excuse for a football team", then I would hate to see what you consider your own Gamecocks.

I understand people hate OSU cause of their conference and recent troubles in NC games..... but that comment is just ignorant beyond belief.

Ohio State is the recipient of what I like to call "The BCS Blow." They are THE elite choke artists and THE most overrated program today. They play in a conference in which the media has blown up. Sure, they routinely beat up on the Iowa's and PSU's of the world, but neither team has been particularly relevant for any prolonged period of time this decade. Ole Miss would've ran the gauntlet in the Big 10 last year.

SEC > Big 10

Anyone who even dreams of forming an argument is a fool.

It's always interesting to hear the opinion of Ohio State from those living outside the state. I don't know if I've ever heard a good thing about the Buckeyes from anyone living outside Ohio. For me, I grew up an OSU fan. My dad took me to games every year and I loved it. They've got a great stadium, nice campus, and wonderful tradition. Then I went to college in Cincinnati and discovered, for the first time really, what today makes me not root at all for OSU: the fans. I don't mind their conference (although it's like watching paint dry) and I think they've been remarkably successful outside bowl games in the last few years. But the fans are out of control. It's not really even that they have high expectations. They do, but what makes them intolerable is that they live in a big bubble. When they win, they're the greatest team on earth. When they lose, the refs sucked or there were injuries. I like Tennessee fans because the expectations are high but for the most part, you all seem to be well versed on football and realistic with those expectations. Most UT fans I talk to say, "hey, we're in a great conference and we've got some of the finest tradition offered, and we'll always compete, but in the last few years, maybe we haven't been quite where we hope to be. If this happens or that happens, hopefully it'll get us back to perennial top five-dom." I'd wager that most OSU fans can't name five teams outside their own conference. Whenever I tell one of them that college football is passing their team and their conference by, they look at me like I'm speaking french. So I can't say I hate OSU considering how long I rooted for them as a kid, but I effing hate their entire fanbase, with few exceptions.

I'm a Bearcat fan through and through, so I passionately dislike West Virginia and Pittsburgh more than any. WVU because they're overrated every year, and Pitt for their fanbase.
