Most disappointing Vols' performance ever?

1996 Florida was one of the more disappointing losses in the last few decades. Not because of a terrible opponent (UF won the NC that year), but because of the crushing blow it dealt our expectations as a fanbase and program.

'93 Bama is right up there, too (yes, I know it was a tie, but it felt like a loss).

95 FL......we had NC aspirations that year.

As bad as that game was, the worst thing was memphis' return guy's knee was down (replay clearly shows it) on the return that eventually won the game for 'em...

correct about the knee, but, what really lost that game was another epic chavis laydown for the winning TD.

and, the UF game ended in a 6 point margin but it was a blowout. chavis D spotted 'em 35 right off the bat.

not even close....a win is a win....40 + points, 700 yards of offense and we did not even try.....our secondary sucks and we may only win 2 SEC games again this year but not even close to most dissapointing anything..............

That was the cleat bowl, OSU claimed we used illegal cleats because they brought short cleats to the game and we were smart enough to look at the weather and bring longer cleats for better traction.

:eek:k:

Yea lecture those of us that can call it like we see it as if your a greater fan because you will not be honest about the shape our program is in. No one is less of a fan and your no better a fan than anyone who disagrees with you.

I like the man, I hope he retires with NC's, records and all the rest. But I am still gonna call it like it is. If it starts looking up I will be right here to say so. First step to getting better is admitting their is a problem and some of you have are to stubborn to admit our program has problems.

So I'm either for ya' or I'm agin' ya', huh?

I don't think I claim to be a better or worse Vol fan or that I am lecturing anybody. I'm just posting my opinion on the current situation. I think the knee jerk reaction of those who want to fire Dools 3 or 4 games into the third year is irrational.

I am not happy losing to UF by 17 (or by 20-30 as happened under CPF). I want us back at the top of the East. We need to be able to blow Bama off the ball and convert a 3rd and 1, much less Akron. We don't need to give up 70+ yard scores against anybody.

I just think firing a guy two and a third year into a four year rebuilding job won't help us. If he wins 8 or more this year and he's back, 7, it depends on how we look, any less and he is gone for sure. Let's see how it plays out.

If that's pumping sunshine, fine. I'll keep on pumping...

GBO!
