More Possible*EDIT* CONFIRMED Staff Changes....

No clue about Martinez, but Knowles defense is based on three safeties.

Strong safety behind the box. One that plays like a corner back and a free safety that also calls out the adjustments.
So basically a star? I mean people keep saying that Knowles is so different but he is basically an older more accomplised banks?

Complex defense that takes a while to learn.. check
Extra safety---check
Loves Leos--check

I know there are probably some schematic differences but its not like we are going from a 4-3 to a 3-4 they are both base 4-2-5 guys

Banks didn't play 3 Safeties. He played a nickel.

a star (in banks defnse) was not a nickel it was more a safety/corner hybrid where in the new DC's defense it just an extra safety andt hey play the SS more like a classic. We havegotten away from the classic FS/SS positions in the past decade. the main differences seem to be for Banks played corner (safeties coach) , the star was the engine. Knowles was a defensive end (Linebackers coach) is a big proponent of the DLine being the engine.

I can hear Garner saying "I agree, get me a good Dline and turn me loose", ha.

On 3rd and 7, send 5 or 6 and sit on the sticks with safety help deep, knowing the ball has to come out. It’s really not that complicated. The best DCs do it. The subpar DCs rush 4, give them a throw to the sticks and/or sit in zone staring at the qb hoping for a bad pass.

What I have learned is that the dark years have lowered folks standards.

Also thin skin is common. Many folks haven’t the ability to poke fun anymore.

Next year may not be better but it will be different. Hopefully we won’t be soft.

WM will be gone soon and he won’t look back. Just like his players defending a receiver.
WMDS appears real

Some folks seem to think the entire defense doesn’t need to be rebuilt. Overhaul if you will. Nothing wrong with wanting excellence.

I’ve also noticed some folks are big fans of a 12 yard cushion on a 3rd and 7.
The most infuriating thing ever. I would rather give up the occasional bomb than have a death by a thousand cuts on every single drive.

Then you have people blaming the offense for the defense being tired. Like is it the offense's fault for the D giving up long drives the first drives of each half? I mean, if the defense doesn't want to get tired, try stopping someone on 3rd down.

Offense got the ball 3 times in 2nd half as Vandy gouged us over and over.
