More Possible*EDIT* CONFIRMED Staff Changes....

Thats the keep it in front of you defense as we drop six 10 yards behind the sticks on 3rd and 3. Or we drop a DT into coverage and leave a true freshman on an island. Or we show zero early and allow the offense to check to the matchup they want, then we don’t get out of it to adjust to their check.
Read, think, react is no way to play at the highest level.
I've never understood the 12-15 yard coushin we give to receivers, especially on 3rd and 7, 3rd and 8.

Unfortunately, the interpretation of the truth is well above the pay grade of many. They select the facts of choice without the benefit of sitting in staff meetings where the risk/reward of all the alternates are weighted and decisions made.

To ASSUME that practice plans were based on preferences is simplistic and juvenile. BUT they jump on board a concept with those pesky declarative sentences. They are of course free to display that level of arrogance playing with documented facts, BUT……,, agendas become documented facts too. This is how I spend my day, usually.
Fascinating insight revealed 😆

From a former co-worker who was extremely tied in at OK State with connections to Knowles & to some OU people, says there has been contact with Matt Guerrieri, which appears very unlikely to happen though not completely impossible. Also there are 2 coaches currently on Miami Dolphins squad that are possibilities, Matt O'Donnell & Brian Duker. O'Donnell has ties to Knowles & good relationship between them. He moved towards NFL but has interest going back to college for the right opportunity. Duker has really been solely an NFL guy and has had a lot of upward mobility but giving current environment in Miami, there have at least been conversation around possibility of Duker coming to UT if Knowles brings O'Donnell. He said Duker is very highly regarded for his work with safeties. Also again mentioned possibility of long time OK State safety coach, Dan Hammerschmidt, taking a non on field coaching role

The fact is we are a poor tackling team. I hope the excuse is we didn’t practice it. That’s better than the alternative of we practiced it and we’re still bad at it. No agenda. Just sting the obvious. Clicking on user names to look at post history is a bit strange. But hey whatever blows your hair back.

No problem with taking exception with tackling efforts. BIG problem with those that attack staff for the practice format based on full fact sets and imply it was just a preference.

Yes I think it is a wise practice to review the most vitriolic posts and posters and use that feature just like I use replay to validate my intake of live interpretation of players efforts. If trends are there then put that in your analysis as well.

Not sure why some repackage a position so frequently. Sharing analysis of the same facts.

Here is the flaw in your process. This is a message board open to most anyone. Some folks don’t take things as seriously as others. Yes some troll. Some are super uptight. Others blow off steam.

See other folks “fan” differently than others. I have said multiple times that I blow off steam in here. It’s an outlet. I may even test some theories and opinions in here to get other folks take on things.

You can’t sit in your reality silo and believe that everyone is posting coming from the same place. And I guarantee you that folks are not the same on here as they are in their REAL life. Hope this helps.

Knowles should hire whomever he thinks can teach proper tackling that involves driving the ball carrier backwards. After watching our film I feel sure that inability stood out.

Then you should welcome my offerings as choices for every reader to assess. You should notice the Vast majority of my takes are responses not initial selling of my own brilliance.

I do think repetitive offerings need to be repetitively challenged to avoid the impression those negative views are near universally accepted as accurate.

I welcome all public discourse. But I don’t have the time, nor do I care enough to research post history of folks on here.

Challenge whatever you want. If that is what cranks your engine go for it. Just know that universal acceptance in one silo isn’t the same in others.

Public forums are the Wild West. Trying to make to much sense of them is probably a fools errand.

Since most of the practices are closed to the public and the media, I am unable to stay how much they "tackle" in practice and I do not believe posters on this board do either. If indeed they don't it is difficult to understand how we tackle so good two years ago. The major difference in the coaches was Atg linebacker. However, it was the CBs Star, and Safeties who were unable to tackle this year. I saw Freshmen LB laying the wood to ball carriers and wide receivers. the Fall. I did see almost all of the defensive players taking poor angles And trying to strip the ball instead of bringing the runners to the ground. That seems likege in stragtegy rather than ability or lack of tackling in practice.
Tackling hasn’t really been a severe issue since Heupel has been here. Until this past season. Now some will say oh it’s been discussed on radio or calling shows blah, blah, blah. But like you said nobody knows for sure. So ask yourself. What was different this past year? The tackling was some of the worst I have seen since Butch. Why?

Now did we have massive coaching changes? Well let’s look at that. Change in DC? Nope. DL coach? Nope. Lbs? Yep. OLB? Yep. CB? Nope. Safeties? Nope. So I have went back and watched some games of Washington with Inge and his LBs seemed to tackle pretty good. And we were a good tackling team the past two years.

Now do you mean to tell me Banks, Inge, Garner, Chop and Martinez just all of a sudden forgot how to teach simple fundamentals like tackling this past year? Give me a break. The hard truth that some of you don’t want to admit is that the players are to blame just as much as the coaches.

People have referenced the military as an example in this situation. Ok fine. Let’s say you are a general and you are great at your job. You issue orders and your soldiers simply decide not to follow them. Is that your fault? Or is that on the solider? These players are getting paid hundreds of thousands and sometimes millions of dollars now. They have to accept a large portion of the blame now.

The all the blame falls on the coaches doesn’t hold weight anymore.
