If Josh keeps improving on his consistency like he has the past 2 games, he could go into 2016 as one of the top QB prospects for the 2017 draft.
Across from the incredibly-accomplished Prescott in the SEC is Josh Dobbs. Only a junior with just over a years starting experience under his belt at Tennessee, Dobbs is far away from reaching the 10,000 career total yardage mark that Prescott eclipsed last week, but he represents an intriguing prospect if he chooses to come out for the 2016 draft. Dobbs has a smaller frame than Prescott and so his threat as a runner is strictly as a speed option, but he excels in that category and can beat a cornerback around the edge with ease. But hes not just a sprinter playing quarterback, hes also one of the smartest prospects the professional ranks will get their hands on in the next couple of years.
A 4.0 student in high school whos majoring in Aerospace Engineering, Dobbs has all the mental tools to succeed at the highest level and thats been evident in Butch Jones spread offense at Tennessee. A comparable quarterback, Marcus Mariota, played in a spread offense similar to that that the Volunteers run, and a knock on Mariota coming out of college was that he threw to his first read all too often. With Dobbs, hes displayed a matured ability to hit second and third reads consistently, and with the athleticism to go with his football IQ, Dobbs can be a legitimate NFL starter someday.
